Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Cataract SurgeryThe clouded natural lens of the eye is removed and replaced with a clear artificial one. It is one of the most common outpatient procedures performed in the country, usually takes under 30 minutes per eye, and is done under light sedation with numbing drops rather than general anesthesia.LASIK / Refractive SurgeryA laser reshapes the cornea to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, reducing dependence on glasses or contacts. The procedure itself takes minutes per eye. Vision is often noticeably better within a day, though it can take several weeks to fully stabilize.Glaucoma SurgeryCreates a new drainage path for fluid inside the eye to lower internal pressure. Glaucoma damages the optic nerve silently, so the goal is preventing further vision loss rather than restoring vision already lost. Several minimally invasive options are now performed in outpatient settings.Retinal SurgeryRepairs the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye, most often for a detached or torn retina, or for bleeding related to diabetes. Timing matters — a detaching retina is treated urgently because delay increases the risk of permanent vision loss.Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)Removes excess skin and fat from the upper or lower eyelids. When drooping upper lids block part of the visual field, the procedure is functional rather than cosmetic and is often covered by insurance if visual field testing documents the obstruction.Corneal TransplantReplaces damaged or clouded corneal tissue with donor tissue. Modern techniques often replace only the affected layer rather than the full thickness, which shortens recovery. Vision improves gradually over months, and stitches may stay in place for a year or longer.

I only gave one star for the nurses and the staff. The wait time is horrible . We came to this place 3 times already . The first time my dad had a laser treatment which they said it will only take 5 minutes. We ended up waiting 4 hours and it didn’t work . They had to reschedule him for a surgery. The 2nd time we came we had a family emergency . Came on time and asked one question to the doctor . Of course they don’t let you talk to the doctor so we had to wait more than an hour for an answer and ended up leaving with no answer . The 3rd time we came for the surgery and we waited more than 5 hours and they kept apologizing for the wait . I don’t know why they let people wait that long . I know they can be busy but our time is valuable too.

If there were an option for zero stars, that is what I would provide. The wait time for your procedure is ridiculous; I waited for over an hour from my scheduled appointment time with no updates provided; I should have just left. Your time is not valuable to them, only your money. Then, when you are taken back, they provide post-op procedures, not before, so you have no idea what to expect. I could not agree to the post op care given personal and business commitments; if I had known in advance the scope of care, I would have scheduled for an alternate date. The blame here is on the surgical center and on the doctor. Now, to top it off, the surgical center charged my insurance $700 for 5 minutes with a nurse, five minutes. Find any other place to have your procedure done; otherwise, you will be stuck paying them for nothing!

I just have to say Mauricio and Martin were 2 of the nicest most genuine people I've met in my life. They made me feel so comfortable and were extremely knowledgeable explaining everything to me. I was scared initially going in but leaving I was grateful to have such a welcoming experience and a great team of nurses. Thank you so much
