I recently had surgery at this center. From start to finish, the entire team was kind, compassionate, and professional. Everything was handled quickly and efficiently without ever feeling rushed. I want to especially thank my nurse, Bria. She was absolutely wonderful — patient, attentive, and so compassionate. I had a lot of anxiety going into surgery, and Bria handled it with such care and understanding. She made sure I felt comfortable, explained everything clearly, and went out of her way to keep me calm and reassured. She even matched my humor about it, which was really calming. Thanks to Bria and the rest of the staff, I felt genuinely cared for every step of the way. I am deeply grateful for their professionalism and kindness, and I would wholeheartedly recommend this surgery center to anyone in need of excellent care.
I recently was diagnosed with gallstones and sludge buildup of my gallbladder back in September, and I just had had surgery this November. I had to choose a place to go to have surgery to on my own to have my gallbladder removed. So I found St. Mary's Good Samaritan Surgery Center of Mt. Vernon. I can't say one bad thing about them during my whole experience here. My Surgeon Dr. Ahuja was very nice and explained to me why I needed surgery and that he would be able to help me out because I was worried I wouldn't be covered on medicaid for surgery but he reassured me I would and I would get help I needed. I was able to have my surgery covered on medicaid. The day of my surgery the staff the nurses were all very good to me. I had a very nice nurse explain to me what was going to happen to me I would feel no pain and I would pass right out before it happened there was nothing to worry about. The Surgeon Dr. Ahuja came in and talked to me and told me what would happen and also reassured me I would not feel and pain. I went into the surgery room and it was exactly how they told me it would be. I fell right asleep and when I woke up it was all over I felt a bit sore, but nothing bad at all, no pain. I was given the option to have my prescription given to me there which was really nice to have so I didn't have to go anywhere to get that. I was given some food and drink and was released to go home an hour later. I had nothing but a great experience. I went back for a check up two weeks later, the Doctors assistant talked to me about why about why I needed my surgery and how bad my gallbladder was after they had it sent if off to a lab to be looked at, and I was also checked to see how good I healed from surgery. I was also given the information about my surgery and how my gallbladder was after it was sent off to be looked at. Anyone that is needing surgery done I would recommend them to anyone they do a great job.
