This review is for yesterday's follow up on my procedures. I was never given without having to ask for it the paperwork that says my results from the procedures and biopsy's. I don't have the best memory of what the doctor all said and my husband was with our son outside just incase if I got bad news. He was expecting me to report back to him after. I never been treated so poorly by any front desk like I was yesterday. The gentleman that I first met made me say my social security number out loud after I told him I didn't want to. The young lady I seen after my appt at check out was really confused on what I asked for. She made me sign a medical release form to myself. I've left many doctors offices with recap of my results with no need to sign a release form to myself. Her and the other lady made me feel like I was asking for too much. I felt like I was an inconvenience to them. No smiles, no friendly voice, and hardly any eye contact. Before I walked out the door I realized my OBGYN would want some records due to one of my issues the doctor said that I needed to let my OBGYN know about this. So I had to then ask for a release form and the gentleman was hesitant to give it to me and the older lady next to him (not the first lady) rambled off sounding annoyed of me about how I don't need to do this unless my OBGYN asks for it. I told her I'm here now and I really don't want to make a second trip my back hurts to drive. She proceeds to grab the release form acting like I'm asking a lot once again and throws the paper into my hand HARD. Doesn't hand it to me. I didn't make a fuss or complain. I just wished her a good day. Little do these people know that my body has been failing me. My heart can't take anymore stress. I was dreading yesterday for weeks for answers. I live everyday in chronic pain. I just given up my dream job. The first guy knew that because when he said my email to me I cried due to it being my business name. These people work in an environment where people can be diagnosed with serious stuff. They should take in consideration of their clients. I didn't deserve that negativity. I have a gut feeling the older lady is the cause of it. The first lady was confused about something and when she asks the older lady about something. The way the older lady talked back to her. I would be scared to ask her any questions. You can tell the front receptionist didn't care for their job. The older lady told me I'll be charged next time for asking for my records. I didn't ask for my records I asked for the results of my procedures. You really going to throw a fit over some printer ink after the amount of money this place just got from my procedures and appts. Dr Summers did great and so did the staff next door. I had 0 issues with any of them. Just those 3 yesterday. I was a huge inconvenience to them. Treat people how you would like to me treated please.
- The nurses are just plain rude and don’t want to be bothered. Just see other similar reviews. - The whole staff is painfully disorganized and slow. I had to call maybe 10 or more times just to get a status on my results and each time I heard different conflicting things from different people. - They farm out your results to be read by a radiologist in Ohio. They do not have a radiologist on staff. This means expect to be waiting for your results for 2 weeks at least. This is just plain unacceptable since this will block your care from progressing. - As if the above wasn’t bad enough, the scan results themselves are utter rubbish. I had 3 specialists tell me that directly who saw the results. The radiologist is just doing the bare minimum to make a buck and is swiping through scans like he’s on Tinder. - They will not send your results to your doctor. They’ll tell you they will but then later say they never do that for any patient. What lol? Just avoid. You’re better off paying the higher price within OSF or whichever hospital you’re getting care at.
From the moment I entered I was put at ease. Great greeting from the receptionist. A few minutes later I was greeted by the technician again with a bright smile. She explained the entire procedure and then Bing, bang boom it was completed. The staff were very professional and the facility was spotless. My clinic I've been going to for 50 years wanted to charge me $1500 for my procedure. Instead I spent 1/5. Two thumbs up! Update: Was told result would be 2 days. It's been 4 days so I called. Dr who reads/interprets scans on vacation. Does the entire system have to stand still while someone takes a vacations leaving the patient to suffer not knowing the results?
I have been Dr Matter's patient for 20+ years! Dr Matter and his staff have always given the best of care. Dr Matter discovered my husband's throat cancer and immediately began the referral process to a surgeon in Chicago. Wonderfully kind, friendly staff - all of whom must truly enjoy their roles! Employee longevity in a clinic environment is a key to patient care. Thank you, Dr Matter and entire staff for your excellent care!! Happy Holidays!!
Dr. Matter is so unbelievably caring, thorough and as present as possible. He always explains everything and listens to any concerns. I think this doctor office may be the nicest and most attentive doctor office I have EVER been too. The environment is so clean and calm, and just makes my visit feel so much at ease! Thank you to the whole staff. I feel much better after my visit, to start my road to recovery with an incredible team!!
