I had an appointment scheduled today for my son's physical in Suite 325 Pediatrics. Prior to the appointment, I called and spoke with the receptionist, Rachel, to let her know I would be arriving a little late, but still within the 15 minute grace period. I was assured that this would not be an issue. I arrived at the office 14 minutes after the scheduled time, only to be met with unprofessional and dismissive service from Rachel (who wears glasses). Upon arrival, I was told I could wait for the next available appointment. Since I had taken the morning off and my son wasn’t due at school, I agreed to wait. However, just a few minutes later, Rachel informed me this time quite rudely that because I was now considered 20 minutes late, I would need to reschedule entirely. This was confusing and frustrating, especially since I had called ahead, was still within the original grace period when I arrived, and had already been told I could wait. Had I been clearly informed of the policy when I called, or even upon arrival, this situation could have been avoided. It’s unclear whether the grace period at this office is 15 or 20 minutes, and the lack of consistency in communication was disappointing. I did schedule another appointment but have since decided to cancel. I had chosen this location for its convenience, as I live nearby, but I’ll now be looking for a pediatric office that offers better customer service and clearer communication.

I am one of the Pediatric GI doctors doing procedures here and I love the Surgery Center of Carmel! The OR staff, the anesthesiologists, the nursing staff, the front desk, everyone is amazing. Everything is run very efficiently and professionally. I feel that my patients are happy with the care and services here as well. Make sure to follow instructions given to you by your scheduler. Please note that individual doctor offices may handle the scheduling with you and not the surgery center. Arrival tips: make sure to arrive from North Illinois street side, as there is no direct access from North Meridian. It says CENTA (Center for Ear, Nose, Throat and Allergy) at the top of the building. Right next to Ritz Charles. Parking is very easy in front. Walk past the elevators straight ahead and you will be at the registration.

I had a surgical procedure done by Dr. Turkle. My experience at this surgery center was outstanding! The Anesthesiologist spent time with me prior to and took every precaution to keep me comfortable. His bedside manner was stellar! My nurse Heather, was calming, kind, concerned, personable and took excellent care of me from start to finish..(including making me an iced coffee, when asked if I wanted anything). Thank you to all who assisted and cared for me on this journey!

My son had his 3rd surgery here, he is 3.5. We would chose going here over anywhere else. Nurses are kind, helpful, and patient. They get you in and out quickly but still make sure you are informed and well taken care of. My son has had issues with coming out of anesthesia in the past but they made us feel comfortable and this expierence today has been the best. While I hope it is our last, if we need to come back I have no issues with feeling like we are in the best of hands.
