Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

ColonoscopyA flexible camera examines the full length of the colon to screen for cancer and remove polyps before they become cancerous. Done under sedation, it typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. The bowel prep the day before is the part most patients find hardest.Upper Endoscopy (EGD)A thin camera passed through the mouth examines the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine. Used to investigate persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, unexplained bleeding, or abdominal pain. Usually takes 15 to 30 minutes under sedation.Flexible SigmoidoscopyExamines the lower portion of the colon only, rather than its full length. Preparation is lighter than a full colonoscopy and sedation is sometimes unnecessary, but it cannot detect problems higher in the colon.Capsule EndoscopyYou swallow a vitamin-sized camera that photographs the small intestine as it passes through — a region that standard scopes cannot easily reach. There is no sedation and no recovery. The capsule passes naturally, and images are reviewed after the fact.ERCPCombines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat blockages in the bile and pancreatic ducts, most often gallstones stuck in a duct. Unlike a routine endoscopy, it carries a meaningful risk of pancreatitis afterward, so it is used when treatment is likely rather than for screening alone.Hemorrhoid TreatmentShrinks or removes swollen veins in the rectum and anus using rubber band ligation, injection, or surgical removal depending on severity. Banding is quick and typically requires no anesthesia; surgical removal is more effective for advanced cases but recovery is noticeably more uncomfortable.

All of the service at the site was excellent and very well run. Staff are terrific, exactly what you would want. The biggest challenge is that everything is paper-based, from the forms you complete to the communication. It really should be modernized, online, with records in Epic for you to take with you.

The easiest and nicest experience for my procedure. Everyone was extremely accommodating to my wishes, which made the day so much less stressful. The nurses were the best, and Dr. Haider was so empathetic and clearly a great doctor on top of it. Highly recommend!

My experience was far more satisfying than imaginable. After a few minutes under their care they clearly and thoroughly explained what can be expected with every step of the procedure. It almost completely relieved my anxiety of the unknown. Despite the feverish activity of the process, I felt a real sense of caring and compassion from every person attending to my needs. It was the most well orchestrated and efficient team effort I’ve ever witnessed. They started on-time, completed at the prescribed time and made me feel confident throughout the procedure. I could not ask for a better experience.

The staff and physicians I interacted with worked as a team showing compassion and concern for my wellbeing. The entire process from setting my appointment to having the procedure went very well. The communication with me was supported by reminders via text and phone calls as well as clearly written instructions on how and when to take the medication prior to having my procedure done. All in all, a 5 star experience.

I found the instructions and other materials easy to complete and helpful. Very clear instructions. I arrived on time and waited only about 20 minutes, which was entirely reasonable given the busy practice and several patients arriving at about the same time. Both the office and clinical staffs were friendly and attentive to me. It is obvious that staff morale is high. Quite an efficient operation. I’d say it beats having to go to hospital for the procedure. The post-op paperwork was informative, and of course the follow up call was appreciated. Top notch practice!
