Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Knee ArthroscopyA camera and small instruments are inserted through incisions the size of a buttonhole to repair cartilage, trim a torn meniscus, or remove loose fragments. Because the joint is not opened fully, recovery is far faster than traditional open knee surgery.Shoulder ArthroscopyUses a small camera and instruments through tiny incisions to repair the shoulder joint — commonly for impingement, labral tears, or damaged cartilage. Most patients go home the same day and begin physical therapy within the first week.ACL ReconstructionRebuilds the torn anterior cruciate ligament using a graft, since a fully torn ACL does not heal on its own. The surgery itself is outpatient, but returning to cutting and pivoting sports typically takes nine to twelve months of structured rehabilitation.Rotator Cuff RepairReattaches torn tendons in the shoulder to the bone. Pain relief often comes well before strength does — a sling is typical for several weeks and full recovery commonly takes four to six months, with physical therapy doing much of the work.Carpal Tunnel ReleaseCuts the ligament pressing on the median nerve at the wrist to relieve numbness, tingling, and night pain in the hand. The procedure takes about 15 minutes under local anesthesia. Night symptoms often improve immediately; grip strength returns over several weeks.Joint ReplacementDamaged joint surfaces are replaced with implants, most commonly at the knee or hip. Once exclusively a hospital procedure, selected healthy patients now have this done at surgery centers and go home the same day with a structured recovery plan.

My family member had meniscus repair surgery at Great Lakes with Dr Shah. This outpatient facility is quick, efficient and staffed with best people. Ashley, Megan and Ruby are very caring with the pre and post surgery. We were very anxious and worried but this facility is completely satisfactory experience vs traditional hospital.

Really great place to have outpatient orthopedic surgery, everyone was super nice and gratuitous. They keep you informed at every step. They even have a tv with the status (albeit a little clunky). The kindness you receive here really goes a long way!

Absolutely wonderful medical staff! Make sure to push in the door then pull out when getting buzzed in! Had a tear in the knee repaired! Procedure took 45 mins but the wait time leading up to surgery…yuck! BUT it’s the norm. Thank you to Meghan, Paradise, & Ruby! You professional ladies were the most caring, kind, knowledgeable and fun ever encountered! Thank u so much!

I had knee surgery yesterday and the nurses Robin and Jade were so pleasant. From the first greeting to the very end. I went in very stressed and nervous but they were completely in their profession and handled me w best bedside manner. So sweet and well connected w me. The anesthesiologist was also the best. He understood my fears and talked me through the entire time. Today Ruby called my from Great Lakes to see how I was doing. Thanks Ruby! ☺Gosh I was so blessed w this team. Dr shah should be proud. ❤ thank you all. I am looking forward to my healing process. Blessings to you all for all you do.
