I had a really great experience with all of the staff and medical team personnel at the Ankeny Surgery Center. The nurses were kind and explained everything fully, Dr. Butler and the anesthesiologist were both quick to answer questions and personable, and the procedure was speedy. The whole place felt very patient-centered. I would absolutely choose to have future surgical procedures there.

Second time they have kept us waiting here for hours on end. Today the excuse was the doctor was late. As if that is an acceptable excuse? Appointment was for 10:15 did not get back till 11:30. Last time had to wait 2 hours for results while doctor got lunch this time. This is un acceptable and total lack of professionalism being shown.

I’ve had two surgeries at the Ankeny Surgery Center. Each time was relaxing and not nerve wrecking as Dr. Brunkhorst and his team know what they’re doing. Even with the fluid shortage they’re having because of the hurricanes they had it under control. You can definitely go in trusting them with your life. And both times when I checked in the ladies up front were very nice and polite.

I have read these review and wonder if I went to the same place. I had shoulder surgery in March, The check in went well but after I was back in surgery, the screen was never updated as to where I was in the que. It made it difficult for my wife to know what was going on. Pre surgery nurse was great, very helpful and explained the whole procedure. After surgery I was told that my wife would be in so she could see how to put on my sling and answer any questions she had. This never happened. I woke up and my sling was on, my wife was called back only to be told to get the car. Went home not knowing what to do as I knew in a few days I would be removing my bandages and sling. Post surgery was so different than pre surgery, left with a bunch of questions.

They were all wonderful! They treated me like I was their only patient. I work in the medical field. I can attest to the stress as to how it can get some times. I live in Ames, and would love to have all procedures done at AMPSC if I could. Great job.
