I had an endoscopy done today and I cannot say enough great things about the staff at the Baptist physicians surgery center there. My experience was worth more than 5 stars. It was my first time being at Baptist in Lexington and I am very pleased and amazed. From registration to staff helping in the hallway with directions without even asking to prepping before the procedure but especially the staff in the procedure and after. Just wow… I adored the nurses so much. The kindness, reassurance, comfort, communication and just the love and safety that I felt made me want to cry happy tears, it was seriously incredible. I didn’t want to leave lol! The teamwork was something I had never witnessed and it was very obvious that they loved their jobs and did them well. They were all happy and outgoing and personable. I wish I could remember all of the nurses names, they made my experience the best. The surgeon, Dr. Castellanos was TOP TIER. I adore him. The anesthesiologist was very professional and kind. I seriously can’t say enough good things. I was honestly blown away by everyone. I wish I could acknowledge them all by name but if they saw me at all today, just wow. I have never walked into a hospital and left thinking about how great my experience was. What I witnessed today we don’t see often in the world. Kindness truly goes a long way and I pray that god blesses each one of those people and that baptist knows what a phenomenal surgery center staff they have. Thank you all.
Today, I had an outpatient procedure done at the Baptist Physicians’ Surgery Center. I was initially a little nervous about the anesthesia part of it. However, the anesthesia doctor was very kind and informative. He made sure to explain everything that was going to happen and explain the type of anesthesia I would be receiving. Honestly the entire team was wonderful. Everyone was so nice and professional. They have their routine down to a t. The whole process was smooth. I was on the schedule for 11:00 AM but was told to arrive by 10:00 AM. We arrived around 9:40 AM. We opted for the valet parking. This was my first time using valet. I don’t know of any other facilities besides Baptist that offers valet. We pulled straight up and was able to hand over our keys to the valet staff. We walked straight into the main lobby and made one left turn. The surgery center is very easy to find. We were greeted by a lovely lady who directed us to sign in for registration. I maybe waited 5-10 minutes then registration called me back. I filled out all of my paper work. The surgery center called me ahead of time to let me know about payments and scheduled surgery time. I went back to the lobby for maybe 5-10 minutes then was called back. I was greeted by a lovely nurse who escorted me back. Then I was greeted by even more lovely nurses and doctors. The nurse who started my IV was great! I didn’t feel a thing. I am often a hard IV stick and have to have at least 2-3 tries. They asked all of their questions, went over medications and asked if I had any questions. Everything was throughly explained and I was comfortable and ready. They allowed my boyfriend to come back before I went back into the OR and after. I was taken into the OR around 10:55AM. I got back into the PACU area around 11:45AM. I was discharged around 12:00PM. Everything went smoothly. The lovely nurse explained my discharge instructions and valet was called to bring our car. I was wheeled out in a wheelchair to our car. Overall, it was a great experience. If I have to have another outpatient procedure or surgery I will definitely go here. It is very clean, efficient and has a friendly and knowledgeable staff and Physicians.
Had a great experience from start to finish. I have horrible anxiety and they handled it like champs. Made an exception to allow someone to be back with me during pre op. Answered every question I had and were so caring. A nurse held my hand as they were pushing meds for surgery. She made me feel so safe and comfortable. Post op was great, they managed my pain and were so caring with me. I was amazed at how fast everything was but didn’t feel rushed. They truly care about their patients. Will definitely go back if I ever have surgery again. Thank you to every nurse that took care of me that day. You all made me feel so cared for!
I had surgery here yesterday. All the nurses were so friendly and attentive. I have a lot of medication allergies and was so anxious about an allergic reaction. They took the time to go over my list of medications that I’m allergic too (it is a very very long list) one at a time to log the reaction I had. The anesthesiologist and his nurse were very nice and reassured me that everything was going to be ok. He told me all the medicine he would use and why he thought it would work better than another medicine. I really wish I remembered everyone’s name so I could give them a shout out. If you have to have surgery, this is the place to do it. They are very caring, attentive, and compassionate. I am going back for another surgery in a few weeks and I am very glad it will be at this facility because I know I am in good hands. They handled my anxiety like champs and I can be a lot to deal with at a time like that. Very grateful to you guys for alleviating my fears and not dismissing my feelings as being irrational or crazy. I look forward to seeing you in a few weeks! Thanks for all of your help and hard work.
A very rare and wonderful experience. From scheduling my surgery to discharging me from BPSS -everything was a breeze. Not once was there a mix up with paperwork, insurance or the procedure. The experience was more than pleasant. I wouldn't recommend anywhere else. I wouldn't even go back to UK for any outpatient procedure after this experience. The staff was kind, compassionate, had great bedside manner and we'll organized. The facility was clean and everyone had a specific place in the hospital and they knew it well. I was blown away by the respect everyone had for one another..
