Could not have asked for a better team of doctors, nurses, and other staff. Very considerate, conscientious and knowledgeable/skilled. Explained and answered questions fully. But the parking in the underground garage at the center could not have been worse. Cramped, crowded, and very difficult to navigate. Furthermore, we could not find one available space. My husband decided to drop me off and try to find parking elsewhere. He could not. When he returned to the garage, he asked an attendant for help. The attendant asked him why he was visiting the facility. When my husband told him about my surgery,he found us a space. This shouldn’t be necessary, but it was for us, as the parking is inadequate and sorely lacking in accessibility. Alternate, additional, or better yet, valet parking should be made available. Also, the waiting room in the surgery center is much too small—cramped and overcrowded, and a perfect breeding ground for germs.
I had cataract surgery today by Dr Chaudhary. I was very pleased with the Friendship facility and staff. The nurses were friendly , courteous , eager to answer questions, very competent , and one even held my hand during the laser procedure [ which was surprisingly brief in duration and not unpleasant. An interesting experience. ]. The anesthesiologist was superb.
The doctors were very nice and professional, the staff was helpful.......up to a certain point. Once the surgery was finished I stopped counting after 5 the number of times they and asked me when my ride (wife) was coming to pick me up. Made me feel like an overdue houseguest. Took maybe 30-40 minutes for her to come, surgery was at 9, took one and a half hours was out of there by 11:50am. Oh they also demanded payment of $230.00 as soon I signed in even though I have insurance, cancelation charge is $250.00 I seriously considered it for a moment for all this headache. Totally went downhill after the surgery. I wish I could have driven myself but rules are rules I would GLADLY HAVE LEFT ON MY OWN POWER.
They need new staff for the front desk. The lady that answers the phone is quite rude every time i have had the displeasure of talking to her. She needs training on customer service. The doctors and nurses are amazing, and if you don't have to speak directly with Mrs .Rude I world recommend this place. But if you do have to speak with her make sure you have all your information ready because she is very impatient and likes to cut you off while you're talking.
On April 22, 2015, I underwent laser-assisted cataract surgery by Dr. Thomas H. Yau, M.D., at the Friendship Ambulatory Surgery. My experience was SUPERB IN EVERY RESPECT. Thank you to all concerned, Oscar Mann, M.D.
