Phenomenal Experience at the Cataract & Laser Center Today, I had my first cataract surgery at the Cataract & Laser Center on Interstate Drive in West Springfield, MA, with a 6:45 AM appointment. Far too often, people focus on the negative, so I wanted to share my positive experience and express my gratitude for the incredible care I received. From the moment I walked in, every single staff member I encountered—from the front desk to the waiting room, the pre-op team, and the surgical staff—was warm, welcoming, and highly professional. I want to especially commend Dr. Frangie, who is truly phenomenal, and Sue, who went above and beyond to ensure I felt at ease. (I prefer not to include last names in reviews, but she knows who she is!) What stood out to me most was the entire team’s ability to maintain such high levels of professionalism, organization, and compassion, even in a busy environment. Watching how they interacted with patients, many of whom seemed understandably anxious, was inspiring. Their kindness and attentiveness made a potentially stressful experience both smooth and reassuring. I want to publicly thank everyone at the Cataract & Laser Center for their outstanding care. Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and I deeply appreciate all that you do. I look forward to returning for my second surgery on January 22 and can’t wait to fully enjoy life with clearer vision—especially skiing once I’m healed! I had a cataract removed from each of my eyes along with lens implants at The Cataract and Laser Center -W. The staff is friendly and top notch and goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The doctors did a great job with my surgery. My vision quickly improved with little pain and downtime. My only complaint was the long wait for my second surgery. I was at the center for nearly 4 hrs. total. Overall a good experience

Had a very positive experience, I took my mother for laser surgery today. Meghan the medical assistant was so helpful due to my mother was extremely nervous she explained to us the procedure which in terms made moms feel less nervous..She listened to our concerns, Thank you so very much Meghan for doing an exceptional job.. Keep up the great work that you are doing! Dr. Shatz was very patient with my mother and this help put my mother at 😌 ease... Thank you so much for providing such good care!

Cataract Surgery Procedure at the Cataract & Laser Center West My first cataract surgery was on my right eye 7/8/2021 and second surgery on my left eye one week later. I was extremely nervous going into this surgery. From the time I walked through the door until I left. Everyone from the receptionist, to the nursing staff, to the anesthesiologist, and finally to Dr. David Shield treated me with the utmost respect. They all could see how nervous I was and assured me that most patients do experience anxiety and they were all wonderful at calming me down. In fact, by my second surgery a week later I was much calmer and could observe the professional way the staff went about their business. They have a well-oiled routine in place, which is very comforting to the patient. Both surgeries were successful. I just cannot get over how clear my vision is; it is just remarkable. I highly recommend the Cataract & Laser Center West, as they truly do make the patient feel they are a high priority.
