Great experience. First time having cataract surgery and didn't know what to expect. Everyone is extremely helpful and eased my mind. Just had my second cataract surgery and all went well. I had no issues with either surgery. Laurie was my nurse and she was the best. The nursing staff is exceptional. Dr Shaw is amazing and I highly recommend her if you have a choice of doctors.

The Surgery Center at Gateway is perhaps one of the finest of such medical institutions for eye in the entire state of Michigan. The ambiance is most friendly and the colors add to the comfortable situation before going into any type of eye surgery. The staff upon entering this medical building is most friendly and helpful and willing to answer any questions which may arise from any patient or client. The professional nurses are warm, concerned and extremely helpful and willing to answer any necessary questions and procedures before the actual operation. There may be humor to ease any anxiety that any client or patient may have. This reviewer was most fortunate to have Dr. Aleksey "Alex" Mishulin as surgeon for the left eye cataract procedure. He is not only a great surgeon but also a wonderful compassionate, empathic and caring surgeon! After the operation, I actually received a personal phone call from him to inquire on the state of my health and eye situation. This is truly remarkable for this fine doctor to actually take the time in his extremely busy operating schedule to call a patient; moreover, this indeed shows a rare and unique compassion for his patients and this rare characteristic makes him a universal favorite indeed! Dr. Mishulin deserves a 10 out of a 10 standard rating!!

Dad went in for cataract surgery a year and a half ago. Was a nightmare the entire process before the surgery which should have been a red flag. Listen to your gut if you feel the same. Not only did they damage both of his eyes on the initial cataract surgery, but made everything much worse going back in for another surgery trying to fix their mistakes. Ended up with a cornea transplant (third surgery) from a simple cataract surgery and still didn't fix the issues caused. Now this far down the road still looking for answers, legally blind, and a whole list of complications as direct result of the surgery issues. Extremely disheartening, disappointing, and life altering.

Had my first Cataract surgery today. The nurses Kim, Jennifer & Laurie were very caring. The best care I've ever received! Dr Stack is great too! It went smoothly, and I've had no pain.

October 2024 Our 1st time here. My husband was getting a cataract removed. Everything went very good, I waited in the waiting area. Pictures of the waiting room are posted. Absolutely a great experience. Friendly caring staff!!!! He goes back in 2 weeks for the other eye.
