Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Knee ArthroscopyA camera and small instruments are inserted through incisions the size of a buttonhole to repair cartilage, trim a torn meniscus, or remove loose fragments. Because the joint is not opened fully, recovery is far faster than traditional open knee surgery.Shoulder ArthroscopyUses a small camera and instruments through tiny incisions to repair the shoulder joint — commonly for impingement, labral tears, or damaged cartilage. Most patients go home the same day and begin physical therapy within the first week.ACL ReconstructionRebuilds the torn anterior cruciate ligament using a graft, since a fully torn ACL does not heal on its own. The surgery itself is outpatient, but returning to cutting and pivoting sports typically takes nine to twelve months of structured rehabilitation.Rotator Cuff RepairReattaches torn tendons in the shoulder to the bone. Pain relief often comes well before strength does — a sling is typical for several weeks and full recovery commonly takes four to six months, with physical therapy doing much of the work.Carpal Tunnel ReleaseCuts the ligament pressing on the median nerve at the wrist to relieve numbness, tingling, and night pain in the hand. The procedure takes about 15 minutes under local anesthesia. Night symptoms often improve immediately; grip strength returns over several weeks.Joint ReplacementDamaged joint surfaces are replaced with implants, most commonly at the knee or hip. Once exclusively a hospital procedure, selected healthy patients now have this done at surgery centers and go home the same day with a structured recovery plan.

Had back surgery yesterday and everyone I came in contact with was so kind and friendly. Dustin, Maria, Jessica, Kateri, Dr. Garbaccio and Dr. Dorenkamp all took such great care of me. Thank you all for all you do. Sue Spagnuolo

Very nice surgical center. I felt so comfortable here. The staff was friendly, professional & compassionate. They even sent me home with a hand written and signed "thank you" for having my procedure there. Can't imagine going anywhere else if needing surgery in the future. Highly recommend!

I had thumb surgery at Red Cedar Surgery Center in February 2025. Without exception, each person involved in my care treated me with compassion, kindness, and professionalism. Many thanks to Dr. Truluck (surgeon), Dr. Evans (anesthesiologist), and Steph, Dustin, Elizabeth, Trent, and Angela for your excellent care.

I didn't have much of a wait and the staff was very friendly and professional. The only thing I have to complain about is that the antistegiologist had scratched my gum, severely. My surgery was November 20 and it's December 27 and it still hasn't healed and I'm in severe pain. Went to see my family doctor and he sent me to my dentist to have it checked and fortunately it's not infected but he had mentioned I was scratched to the bone, it hurts so bad and isn't healing. The dentist gave me some instructions on rinsing my mouth and mentioned if there isn't any healing within a couple weeks I'll have to see a oral surgeon, I'm hoping not. I hope the team can be alittle more careful with inserting and taking things out of people's mouths without incident cause this is terrible, especially over the holidays.

I had surgery today and I cannot stress enough the amazing team that helped me! ! I wasn’t a number like in a big hospital, I was a patient which was such a great experience. Dustin was so thoughtful and was with me from the beginning and then after surgery. He explained every detail of what was happening or going to happen and put me at complete ease. Surgery is not fun by any means but the team made it so much easier on me. I highly recommend Red Cedar to anyone having surgery.
