I have held this in but I think itâs important that I share my experience so that it doesnât happen to anyone else. Do not go to this office! I had a cystoscopy, and told him I have difficulty getting the urine, out I forget what thatâs called. He said âI donât know eitherâ (Itâs bladder retention, very common, first red flag.) Then he said I have a prolapsed uterus and asked if I had given birth! Nowhere in my paperwork did I state I was a mother, but he was already inside me doing this test so too late to turn back now. (went to my gynecologist like he suggested, she had no idea why he said that and said my uterus is definitely not prolapsing.) I have already been diagnosed with severe interstitial cystitis with Hunners ulcers. I just needed a new urologist because mine retired. So the doctor says âeverything looks good!â I was like what do you mean? Everything looks good? He says, I donât see any problem. I said you need to do a bladder dissension, thatâs crazy. My whole bladder is covered in red lines and ulcers. Iâve seen the images I have the images. So he scheduled a bladder dissension and I expected him to take images like they do at the hospital during this procedure, and he didnât take any. He proceeds to tell me again that everything is fine (I have to take his word for it as I have no physical evidence, and that I donât have any problem no interstitial cystitis nothing! As fabulous as it was to hear I had made such a miraculous recovery, then what was causing all of the symptoms to still be soooo bad. He then suggested that my symptoms are psychosomatic. This is even astute showing him my hospital papers with the diagnosis from my past urologist. Then he suggested getting the INTERSTEM implant! A bit contradictory there donât you think? That is a serious procedure and decision to make to get the interstem but I heard him suggesting it to other patients while waiting, and I know that when I was in the operating room an older patient had just had it done. They could just be doing it to as many people as possible to get the money. This is such a severe condition and if you have it, you know the pain and misery that it causes I donât need a man to make me feel like itâs all in my head. Also, you will have to wait a long time. Itâs just a bad experience. The nurse practitioner is good and the front desk staff and operating room nurses were also very nice I will say!
I do not recommend this office. Unless you are there in person, you will not get anything done. I've been calling for a week trying to get procedures rescheduled, and I keep being told you are on the list for a call back. In the meantime, this bladder infection keeps coming back. 5 days and still no call back.
You are nothing but another number to this office. We were referred here during our infertility journey, which is an incredibly sensitive issue. We were written a prescription for an ultrasound and bloodwork by this office. We made the separate appointment for that and waited. Upon arrival at Asencion for these labs, we were turned away because the nurses at this urologist didnât even take the time to spell my husbandâs name correctly. When I called, very upset, they did not even apologize. We then waited AGAIN for another appointment with a new script. Once the results were sent to the doctor, I called and asked for them to please be delivered over the phone. I knew in my heart the result would be that the urologist couldnât do anything for us, and would just be referring us to fertility. I was told it wasnât an option to receive results over the phone and Iâd have to wait AGAIN to come in person and receive them. Lo and behold, I was right. Dr. Kumar came in, meeting us for the first time, and told us there wasnât anything he could do for us and actually referred to my husbands blood results as âbadâ multiple times, without actually explaining what any of the results meant. We were in the room with him less than 5 minutes. As we were leaving, we were written a referral to fertility, where my husbandâs name was spelled wrong on the prescription AGAIN. Then, after I left and made the fertility appointment at the clinic the doctor told us to, the urologist called my husband and I both after hours to tell us the doctor he referred us to doesnât even work at the clinic they gave us the information to! I do not recommend this doctors office at all - unless you want to feel like just another number and check book for them.
This is a small surgical center. No parking available for scheduled patients. Support staff are friendly. Scheduling a follow-up appointment is nearly impossible to do, perhaps give patient an appointment while the patient is in recovery. Also understand that you will fight to get pain relief and will be treated as if you are an addict. People go to a urologist because they are in a health crisis not to score Toroidal and Norco pills. How ridiculous can you be?
I agree with the multitude of poor reviews due to the management and disorganized office staff. Once again Dr Kumar is great. Kumarâs PA supposedly has been trying to reach me. Iâve called numerous times without a response. Today I was informed that it was basically my fault. I was at wits end as my prescription had run out and informed the staff member that I would follow up with my primary and wouldnât be back. She responded condescendingly âByeâ. Wow was not expecting that. Definitely wonât be back after that.
