I've been going to Sanford for 30+ years. The doctors and therapists are so helpful and understanding. They listen to you.
I scheduled an appointment with Sanford Detroit Lakes and none of their available times worked in my schedule. I told them I could make the 10am work, but I would be 10 minutes late. Their scheduler said that would be OK and to come in and get care. I take time off of work and check in for my appointment at 10:12. I sit in the waiting room for about 10 minutes. The nurse calls me and takes me back to the exam room and says “We’ve gone ahead and cancelled your appointment because you were 15 minutes late.” My blood was boiling and I told her that the staff approved it. She said it’s too late to have the appointment. I started walking out and she said “I hope you have a better day.” In an incredibly snooty tone. This was the staff of Dr. Rajeet Singh. Revisit bedside manner. Why the hell did your staff OK this and make me sit in the waiting room if you’re just going to cancel?! There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING posted, whether in building, online, or in the online check in terms of services that they will cancel your appointment. I asked to speak to someone higher up and she called me back later and tried to gaslight me that I had agreed to it in the terms of service in the online check in. After this incident, I read it four different times and there is no such thing. Go to Essentia Health instead.
The team at Sanford Clinic in Detroit Lakes is helping me make huge strides in my back and hip pain! Dr. Jon Larson and Physical Therapist Cooper Tietz are ROCKSTARS! They take the time to listen to me, and they are coming up with a solid plan for moving forward!
The best thing this place ever did was bring in Norgard. He was the doctor who saved my baby’s life and dealt with my pregnancy from hell with humor, compassion, and complete understanding at Lake Region, and myself and several others have followed him to Detroit Lakes. I drive over an hour to see him, and I do so willingly. He’s the best doctor I’ve ever worked with and ever had. I’m so thankful for him. I no longer have any parts that would need him, but he’s willing to help me through some other medical issues. I don’t have the words to describe how grateful I am to this man. Since moving to Minnesota, I haven’t heard great things about Sanford, but this decision made me think a whole lot differently about Sanford.
I went for a pre employment screen & the lab tech that took my urine & blood was very rude & seemed defensive. She was clearly misunderstanding me when I was asking questions & it was just a very awkward experience. Maybe she was just having a bad day but don’t take it out on your patients. The nurse & provider were friendly & did a great job.
