My endoscopy went smoothly here. From check in arrival to departure was about 1 hour 45 minutes (pamphlet estimate was ~2 hours), so they ran things very efficiently. All the staff I interacted with were friendly and took enough time to listen to me, despite moving quickly. I explicitly chose MNGI for my care after a doctor at my previous health system did not seem amenable to further discussion on my treatment path. So far, I am glad I switched! The anesthesiologist and performing doctor both visited prior to the procedure to touch base. I had sent a medical message back in November with an updated plan that I would follow prior to the EGD, but that info must not have made it into my chart for some reason because the performing doctor referenced the outdated plan in my chart. But the doctor listened to me for my correction and said she would update my chart with the new info. I see on the pathology results that she followed through with that correction, so much appreciated! Also worth noting those results came in very quickly, just a few days later (despite the holiday), and were made available to view on the portal.
This was my second colonoscopy by Dr Lindholm. I find him very easy to talk to as a patient and I have never had any issues with the polyps that he removed. The care team at Maple Grove is EXCELLENT!
I'm not one to give reviews but I felt this one was warranted. I wanted to say Dr. Olson and her team were wonderful for my first Colonoscopy in the Maple Grove MNGI facility. From check in to discharge which was just under 3 hours - everyone was professional, courteous, patient and kind. Facility was very organized and clean. I felt listened to and very well taken care of. Shout out to the incredible nursing staff that answered all my questions, monitored me from start to finish and made me feel calm through the whole process. This is exactly what health care should be like.
Wishing I can give 5 stars separately for the nurses that did a wonderful job servicing us and to the nurses that might have felt shocked as well with our experience. 2 stars because the doctors are the HEART of the clinic. Doctor Qun Cindy Gao was the person who did my Mother’s Endoscopy this past November, 2025. My sister and I brought in my mother for her appointment and this was our first time at MNGI. Doctor Qun Cindy Gao came in with records asking if my mom had taken her antibiotic for her infection as in the record has indicated she did an endoscopy at the Mayo in June, 2025 and found an infection. We were taken back as our mother didn’t live in Minnesota until September, 2025. We didn’t get to have a word at all unfortunately because doctor Qun Cindy Gao started raising her voice abruptly and causing commotion when my sister and I are two quiet talkers, we are not ones to over talk another person or put up with someone acting like that so we stayed quiet. We then asked if we could see the records because it all didn’t make sense as it was FALSE information about our mother being here at the Mayo in Rochester in JUNE, 2025 when she lived in a different state at the time. Doctor Qun Cindy Gao refused to show us the record and became loud again, causing the nurses to turn to see what was going on. It was an awful experience and embarrassing for our mother for didn’t understand English at all see us get lectured as we just took a silent and called Mayo ourself to back us up and they clearly verified that they did not do any endoscopy on my mother. In the end, my mothers results came back and she was NEGATIVE to having any infection. All these paper work and records are all wrong due to old paper documents from doctors and because of her move from another state, we were being very diligent and mindful to help the doctors know and understand what’s been going on. Doctor Qun Cindy Gao is one of the first doctors who failed my mother and us with companion, support, and understanding. She lacks the ability to stay in character of her position in her professional field as a doctor, it doesn’t matter if she had a bad day already or we were the cause of her day, she shouldn’t have raised her voice and yelled at us like we started something, we didn’t even get to finish explaining what may had happen or a question and she cut us off multiple time. We couldn’t even get a word out of our mouth to help her figure what was going on and help her navigate this situation. She made it sound like we were judging her work or the truth she had in her HAND which was the records when we were letting her know the records may have been wrong due to the previous wrong record already, had she just hear us out, she would have understand a previous situation that had occur with a mistaken record that was not anyone’s fault here. But her actions and being out of character has shown who she is in her professional field that day. We will no longer wan her service nor the clinic that’s for sure. And to update information my mom had a colonoscopy in June 2025 in the state she previously lived in and it wasn’t in MAYO ROCHESTER. So Dr gao clearly must have read everything so fast and came back with full force with fighting words. It’s pretty sad that she couldn’t just hold herself accountable for her actions, words, and information.
Had a procedure scheduled. Was on time and courteous to staff upon arrival. Once in and set for procedure, and after talking to doctors ect. I was given a consent form to sign. Well apparently they "changed their policy" a couple weeks ago and I was denied my procedure. The nurse was very rude. I should have known this place was going to give me issues from the initial phone call from them. They were rude to me on the phone as well. I brushed that off and continued. My check in nurse was wonderful. The receptionist was nice. The doctor was nice. It was the anesthesia nurse that needs to find a new job!
