Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

ColonoscopyA flexible camera examines the full length of the colon to screen for cancer and remove polyps before they become cancerous. Done under sedation, it typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. The bowel prep the day before is the part most patients find hardest.Upper Endoscopy (EGD)A thin camera passed through the mouth examines the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine. Used to investigate persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, unexplained bleeding, or abdominal pain. Usually takes 15 to 30 minutes under sedation.Flexible SigmoidoscopyExamines the lower portion of the colon only, rather than its full length. Preparation is lighter than a full colonoscopy and sedation is sometimes unnecessary, but it cannot detect problems higher in the colon.Capsule EndoscopyYou swallow a vitamin-sized camera that photographs the small intestine as it passes through โ€” a region that standard scopes cannot easily reach. There is no sedation and no recovery. The capsule passes naturally, and images are reviewed after the fact.ERCPCombines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat blockages in the bile and pancreatic ducts, most often gallstones stuck in a duct. Unlike a routine endoscopy, it carries a meaningful risk of pancreatitis afterward, so it is used when treatment is likely rather than for screening alone.Hemorrhoid TreatmentShrinks or removes swollen veins in the rectum and anus using rubber band ligation, injection, or surgical removal depending on severity. Banding is quick and typically requires no anesthesia; surgical removal is more effective for advanced cases but recovery is noticeably more uncomfortable.

I had my first procedure did this morning and I must say my experience was wonderful. Everyone was so nice, caring, and kind. I was so nervous and they reassured me that everything would be okay and that I was in good hands. I didn't catch my nurses name but we talked about her trip to Hawaii. She was the most sweetest, kindest, most caring nurse i have ever met. She has a wonderful personality and is beautiful inside and out. We talked like we have known each other forever and we had just met. Thank you all for taking such great care of me and Dr. Fox is wonderful.

First time I had my procedure done here with Dr Farmer and I am so happy to have found him. The whole time I was there I could never sense any kind of rush or hectic. Everyone was super nice and very calm. I was told more than I wanted to know and could always ask questions. The facility was very clean and not too โ€œcoldโ€ more like a warm environment. I am actually looking forward to the next time in 5 years! ๐Ÿ˜

As a family member of a patient - I planned to do a drop off and pickup as I've done before. Once there I was told I could not leave or else they'd cancel the procedure. This is the most inconvenient and inconsiderate office policy ever. To my knowledge this was not communicated prior and I personally didn't know until I tried to run and grab food and run local errands. Beware of this policy prior to arriving.

Appointment with Dr. Farmer and his staff. I have been here a few times for different procedures. Generally, they are always willing to work with me to get the best appointment times to fit whatever I need. Today, my nurse was Sarah. They're always friendly and go about their job like it was second nature. Most of the time, you don't even realize they did anything until it's already over and you're getting dressed to leave. I couldn't recommend going anywhere; especially if you really have a serious problem like me and want someone who cares. They're going to find the best treatment for your situation. I would give them all the stars in the sky if I could.
