Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

ColonoscopyA flexible camera examines the full length of the colon to screen for cancer and remove polyps before they become cancerous. Done under sedation, it typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. The bowel prep the day before is the part most patients find hardest.Upper Endoscopy (EGD)A thin camera passed through the mouth examines the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine. Used to investigate persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, unexplained bleeding, or abdominal pain. Usually takes 15 to 30 minutes under sedation.Flexible SigmoidoscopyExamines the lower portion of the colon only, rather than its full length. Preparation is lighter than a full colonoscopy and sedation is sometimes unnecessary, but it cannot detect problems higher in the colon.Capsule EndoscopyYou swallow a vitamin-sized camera that photographs the small intestine as it passes through — a region that standard scopes cannot easily reach. There is no sedation and no recovery. The capsule passes naturally, and images are reviewed after the fact.ERCPCombines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat blockages in the bile and pancreatic ducts, most often gallstones stuck in a duct. Unlike a routine endoscopy, it carries a meaningful risk of pancreatitis afterward, so it is used when treatment is likely rather than for screening alone.Hemorrhoid TreatmentShrinks or removes swollen veins in the rectum and anus using rubber band ligation, injection, or surgical removal depending on severity. Banding is quick and typically requires no anesthesia; surgical removal is more effective for advanced cases but recovery is noticeably more uncomfortable.

I just had my colonoscopy done this morning at the Madison facility and was highly impressed by the staff, beginning with check in. It helps when getting a dreaded procedure done when you're greeted by smiling and cheerful staff. The entire process was amazingly efficient and the wait times were much less than expected. Eva, my nurse was kind, gentle and informative. The Dr performing the colonoscopy was also friendly and informative and I had no pain or discomfort or any negative after effects. Great experience!

Worst experience I’ve ever had regarding any healthcare facility. ! Set my appt weeks in advance just to get in before prep and be told my insurance was out of service and I couldn’t proceed with my procedure. Given a number to call and met with even more rudeness. Was told I couldn’t come there and when asked for recommendations and how to move forward, I was told to “GOOGLE IT”. I was very taken back by the rudeness and lack of understanding & empathy. I can’t speak on the nurses or the actual doctors but I won’t be back.

The surgery staff and Dr. Underwood were kind, considerate and professional. Dr. Underwood has a great bedside manner and everyone else put me at ease about the procedure. I could not give a 5-star review because I called the clinic a few days before the colonoscopy and asked if one of the allergy meds would interfere with the procedure. The nurse didn't call me back, but I spoke with a medical assistant who was very inconsiderate. I had never encountered this type of behavior in the medical field before and it upset me. I am just glad I had a good experience with the procedure and staff.

This place has good staff. They treat the pacient nicely and respectful. I noticed that the chairs on the lobby are visibly warned. Other IMPORTANT OBSERVATION I HAVE, and it was that, normally this clinic attend elderly pacients and most of them are in WHEELCHAIR. Sooo, they should have a automatic pen doors. It doesn't make sense that this "business " (it's a business for sure, they earn a lot of money from us), that never in their life, weren't thinking to have an automatic doors for the handicapped pacients!!!??? UNBELIEVABLE!!
