Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Knee ArthroscopyA camera and small instruments are inserted through incisions the size of a buttonhole to repair cartilage, trim a torn meniscus, or remove loose fragments. Because the joint is not opened fully, recovery is far faster than traditional open knee surgery.Shoulder ArthroscopyUses a small camera and instruments through tiny incisions to repair the shoulder joint — commonly for impingement, labral tears, or damaged cartilage. Most patients go home the same day and begin physical therapy within the first week.ACL ReconstructionRebuilds the torn anterior cruciate ligament using a graft, since a fully torn ACL does not heal on its own. The surgery itself is outpatient, but returning to cutting and pivoting sports typically takes nine to twelve months of structured rehabilitation.Rotator Cuff RepairReattaches torn tendons in the shoulder to the bone. Pain relief often comes well before strength does — a sling is typical for several weeks and full recovery commonly takes four to six months, with physical therapy doing much of the work.Carpal Tunnel ReleaseCuts the ligament pressing on the median nerve at the wrist to relieve numbness, tingling, and night pain in the hand. The procedure takes about 15 minutes under local anesthesia. Night symptoms often improve immediately; grip strength returns over several weeks.Joint ReplacementDamaged joint surfaces are replaced with implants, most commonly at the knee or hip. Once exclusively a hospital procedure, selected healthy patients now have this done at surgery centers and go home the same day with a structured recovery plan.

Dr. Cauthen was very professional. I had bariatic surgery and have had nothing but good results. Minimal pain and a successful weight loss that met and/or exceeded my goals.

Very disappointed. For the follow up appointment from surgery, the 3 ladies at the desk acted as if I had interrupted something. I guess I did, I had to ask where do I check in because they were ignoring me as I stood at the counter. I was NOT screened prior to going to a room. I am now here to pick up a claim-form.I was charged $10 for the doctors portion. Office hours are posted 8-2 Friday..... NOBODY home!!!! IT IS 1:35. I will not use this clinic again, I will have to choose a surgeon NOT affiliated with the Surgery Clinic of Tupelo.
