Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Knee ArthroscopyA camera and small instruments are inserted through incisions the size of a buttonhole to repair cartilage, trim a torn meniscus, or remove loose fragments. Because the joint is not opened fully, recovery is far faster than traditional open knee surgery.Shoulder ArthroscopyUses a small camera and instruments through tiny incisions to repair the shoulder joint — commonly for impingement, labral tears, or damaged cartilage. Most patients go home the same day and begin physical therapy within the first week.ACL ReconstructionRebuilds the torn anterior cruciate ligament using a graft, since a fully torn ACL does not heal on its own. The surgery itself is outpatient, but returning to cutting and pivoting sports typically takes nine to twelve months of structured rehabilitation.Rotator Cuff RepairReattaches torn tendons in the shoulder to the bone. Pain relief often comes well before strength does — a sling is typical for several weeks and full recovery commonly takes four to six months, with physical therapy doing much of the work.Carpal Tunnel ReleaseCuts the ligament pressing on the median nerve at the wrist to relieve numbness, tingling, and night pain in the hand. The procedure takes about 15 minutes under local anesthesia. Night symptoms often improve immediately; grip strength returns over several weeks.Joint ReplacementDamaged joint surfaces are replaced with implants, most commonly at the knee or hip. Once exclusively a hospital procedure, selected healthy patients now have this done at surgery centers and go home the same day with a structured recovery plan.
Epidural Steroid InjectionsSteroid medication is injected near irritated spinal nerve roots to calm inflammation causing sciatica or arm pain. Often used to make physical therapy tolerable rather than as a standalone cure. There are limits on how frequently they can be repeated.Nerve Block InjectionsAnesthetic, sometimes with steroid, is injected around a specific nerve to interrupt pain signals. Used both to treat pain and to identify its source, since relief from a precisely placed block points to the nerve responsible.Radiofrequency AblationHeat generated by radio waves disables the small nerves carrying pain signals from an arthritic spinal joint. Relief commonly lasts six months to two years. Because the nerves regenerate over time, the procedure can be repeated.Spinal Cord StimulationA device delivers mild electrical pulses to the spinal cord to interrupt chronic pain signals before they reach the brain. A temporary trial period is done first, so you can judge the benefit before committing to a permanent implant.Joint InjectionsSteroid or lubricating medication is injected directly into an arthritic or inflamed joint. Image guidance is often used to confirm placement. Relief typically lasts weeks to months and can make physical therapy more productive.Trigger Point InjectionsA local anesthetic is injected into a taut, tender knot of muscle to break the spasm-and-pain cycle. The appointment takes minutes and you can usually return to normal activity the same day.

I wanted to say thank you for your help with my surgery ! Everything went perfect! The attendants were friendly to me and helped me from preparation for the surgery and after the surgery was completed! I would especially like to thank Dr. Katya Karpitskaya for the work done! This is the best surgeon I have ever met! A caring and sensitive person who helps absolutely everyone! She answered and helped with all the questions I had before and after the surgery ! it's just incredible! I recommend Dr. Karpitskaya ! Thank you again! ☺️

I have to share my fabulous experience having my hip replaced on Nov. 17th, 2023 at Bienville Surgery Center. As a retired RN, I am VERY picky on the care I receive. Dr. Yekaterina Karpitskaya put me at ease immediately. I remember when you were in the hospital 5-7 days with a joint replacement and I came home the same day! Josh my pre-operative nurse and Josh my post op nurse ( I know 2 nurses the same day, same name, what are the chances?) were so caring, and made my comfort a priority. Pete and Dr. Dibble from anesthesia were also amazing. The Bienville Ortho Nurse Navigators Chelsie and Heather answered all questions and provided excellent education. If you are given this facility as an option for surgery, I highly recommend you choose this. Going home the same day was so comforting to me. The facility is state of the art and the care provided is above and beyond. Surgery can be scarey, however I felt I was in the best of hands from beginning to end. Thank you!

Dr. Noblin and his staff at the offices and at the surgery center were very professional and nice. Dr. Noblin explained my injury, then explained every step along the way from surgery, after care and recovery time. He was very patient and caring. His staff was just as professional and gracious as can be. The surgery staff were so helpful and attentive to my needs and and family. So much so they noticed my 87 year old mother was all covered up. They asked her if she was cold and she said yes but she'd be ok the surgerical nurse brought her a warm blanket!!! That's true people that love their job and want to do their best. Would recommend them to everyone
