If you love someone don’t let them have surgery here. Michael was the guy prepping my loved one. He didn’t do great at the IV, didn’t remember to put her wrist band on at all to confirm her identity. And his bedside manner was terrible. 1/10. THIS IS HOW MISTAKES IN HOSPITAL SETTINGS START. Two nurses came to get my loved one and immediately tried to tell my loved one how terrible the surgery would be and how incredibly painful the recovery was and how it would hurt for weeks - completely counter to what the doctor had told us five minutes previously. Then despite telling us how bad it was, apparently they didn’t want us to waste their time in recovery because Erica - one of the nurses - then strongly advised against what she called “calm juice” and said that she would only give it if my loved one was extremely nervous. She then tried to convince my loved one that it would only make her groggy and forget things, and kept saying over and over that it would mean my loved one could go home quicker and get out of recovery faster. She seemed annoyed when I requested the actual name of the medication she was referring to (midazolam/versed), which is just insane. How unprofessional do you have to be to not answer a question like that and how could it possibly be unreasonable for a concerned spouse not to ask? Erica has known my loved one for 60 whole seconds by this point, and I’ve known my loved one for nearly 20 years. Unknown to Erica, I also teach emergency medicine. I can see that my loved one is nervous and so I simply say “[my loved one] doesn’t display nervousness like most people do, and love, [what I call my spouse] I would recommend you take the versed.” At this point Erica loudly says to my loved one “your body your choice” - a statement she says several more times after I again recommend the drug. But Erica apparently doesn’t care about anything but how long my loved one will be in recovery. The other nurse chimes in at this point to helpfully say that she would take the versed too, “because hey, it’s legal” strongly implying she’s a big fan of taking drugs. Not what you want to hear minutes before surgery. When I again quietly ask my loved one to consider taking the drug, Erica cuts me off again to say that my loved one’s heart rate isn’t elevated and therefore she’s not anxious and doesn’t need it. Erica didn’t realize that before she stepped into the room my loved one’s heart rate was 70 and now it’s 96, which absolutely indicates anxiety in my loved one, who I have taken care of every single day for decades. Erica even stood between my loved one and I so that could not see my loved one or get her attention. She literally tried to block me from seeing my loved one during this discussion. Then they quickly told me to say goodbye and took her to surgery. I would give this place negative stars if I could. I’ve worked in hospitals my entire professional life and this was the most unprofessional experience I’ve ever witnessed. As I sat in the waiting room during surgery, another lady came outside and told me that she was locking the front door since they had no one else coming in. Very clearly my loved one was the last scheduled surgery today and all the nurses wanted to go home early. So they pressured my loved one into not taking a specific medication so she would take less time in recovery. It wasn’t late in the day - this surgery was scheduled just after noon on a Tuesday. We have never met any of these people before today, and there was nothing impolite about anything that my loved one or I said. We have no idea what prompted this weird nurse to suddenly take a normal conversation between a married couple into a weird political territory except that she clearly wanted to leave for the day and to hell with my loved one’s care or comfort. This turned an already frightening and anxious experience - surgery - into a much worse experience. Avoid this place at all cost. They do not care about patients, and they do not follow standard medical practices.

Had surgery here a couple months ago, and had a terrible experience. Nurse (Mike) missed my IV a few times. A CRNA had to place my IV, and Mike had the audacity to make a snarky comment that there was some blood on the bed. He couldn’t even get it himself. I overheard a lot of inappropriate banter between him and another nurse, things like “That’s what she said” kind of banter, which was completely unprofessional. Nerve block didn’t work, and they seemed to have struggled with it. I could also hear him complaining behind the curtains about how I was taking so long to wake up. Very unprofessional.

I was extremely nervous going into this place. Not because of the place but more of the experience I had with a previous surgery. This was a quick decision, had I waited, my outcome could have been much worse. Everyone there were very friendly, caring, and I don't think I could have asked for a better team of professionals. A big thank you to everyone. I would highly recommend the surgery center to anyone.

Horrible experience. I've been going back and forth for almost 2 years now. Very unorganized and lacking communication. I waited 3 hours after my scheduled appointment only to be denied my procedure because I ate early this morning. I was never told to not eat. All they were worried about was whether I had insurance or not. Now I have to wait another month for them to call me which I'm sure won't happen. My initial appointment I had to call numerous times and leave multiple voice messages without response. It wasn't until I asked to speak to a supervisor before anything was done. I feel like if I want black I would have been more of a priority.

Front desk staff was great, especially Loretta. She went above and beyond to help me figure out my billing. The whole experience ended up refreshing as I was sort of nervous to start with. I left happy and will be back should I ever need outpatient surgery in the future!
