This is the first time I have been to a surgery center. I found the doctors and nurses to be very caring and explained what they are doing. The atmosphere is much more calming than the regular hospital atmosphere. This was definitely a positive experience.
I had a wonderful experience at Beacon Surgery Center, where I recently had surgery on my hand. To start off, the receptionist and nurses staff were all very friendly and professional. The building is beautiful and is easy to find, just off I-470. They put me at ease and made me feel like everything was going to be just fine. My hand specialist, Doctor Palmer, came in and explained what was going to happen and asked me any questions. So did the anesthesiologist. I am recovering from the surgery now, and I can already tell my hand is much better. Yesterday, I received a follow-up call from Doctor Palmer, who was checking to see how I was doing and again asking if I had any questions. He is a very thoughtful and kind person.
Amazing care and team! I truly appreciated everyone who helped make my surgery experience smooth and stress-free. From check-in to recovery, every staff member was kind, professional, and attentive. Thank you for making a nerve-wracking day feel so much easier!
The billing for my claim has been exceedingly difficult. My surgery was authorized and I paid up front a significant amount for the surgery. But then a different CPT code was used than had been approved and my insurance denied the claim. Now I am currently awaiting approval as they go back and forth and am having to pay over my deductible for other costs because this was not addressed timely. And every one in this instance says they are waiting on somebody else and meanwhile the patient gets the raw end of the deal.
Staff was awesome and treated my daughter with great care. My only complaints are cosmetic. The lobby/waiting area set up is strange and I did not find it comfortable. The TV was on a constant loop of 1970's name that tune. Personally, I found that annoying. The half circle sofa is too large for the room and looked out of place. When the doctor came out to discuss the surgery results everyone in the room could hear our conversation. I did not like that. Additionally, the pre-op area is not private. While waiting for my daughter to go back, we could over hear the epidural procedure going on next to us. That just further disturbs and already anxious situation. The wait was a bit long.
