I would give 10 stars if I could I went there to have a colonoscopy of course I was scared but from the start when they took me back, Lexi and Tracy calm me down and had me laughing. And then I met Doctor JOO what a special person knowledgeable explained everything to me and exceeded my expectations. I also like to thank Connie and Melissa I would say if you need to have this procedure I would choose Jefferson surgery center in Cherry Hill New Jersey. Thank you guys for making my experience great
I’ve been here twice for two procedures. Initial the reviews scared me. I can honestly same my experience has been amazing. From my surgeon, nurses and desk staff all kind welcoming and attentive. Couldn’t ask for better service.
I had a procedure done here last week and it could not have gone better. I arrived at 6:15AM and left by 8:30 which is pretty amazing for a procedure where I had to be put under. All of the doctors, nurses and admins were incredibly nice and friendly. The building is brand new and beautiful. One note: it was kind of hard to find via the maps instructions. Especially because the google maps picture doesn't look anything like it. You're going to the giant glass hospital. It's easy when you know what you're looking for :)
The nurses, doctors etc were all excellent however registration was a nightmare they demanded money on day of my surgery after the week before I was told they would bill my insurance co first and in 90 days I could set up a payment plan. The girl at registration Had me so upset since I only brought my phone, license and insurance card since I was not told I had to bring payment. She harrassed me in front of others saying I had to make a payment and even when I told her I had none on me she was not very nice and told me they would have to cancel my surgery and she picked up her cell phone asking me did she need to call her supervisor to see what could be done and did I want her to have to wake her up. My husband had went down to get his phone out of the car and she said what about your husband won’t he have money the proceeds to tell me that I needed to pay $528 that day of it would be cancelled and I said well he won’t have that kind of money on him he will have to drive home and she got nasty and called the nurse to tell her I would be late because I was holding up the surgery for not having payment! This was the most awful experience I have ever had before going into surgery! My husband had his debit card on him and she without asking not only put in for the payment for that morning but set up for two more payments to be taken out in April and May for $528 each which was not right I am out of work on disability and this has put a burden on me and my bills. I explained to her several times that the lady who called me the week before told me none of this and I was expecting to make payments I could afford!! Not just given what they wanted to take! I would think seriously about going elsewhere this is not what someone should have to go through right before going into a big surgery!
The facility and people were decent. Billing is a nightmare. They required a cash payment in the amount of my full annual deductible up front to cover anything I would potentially owe, fine, makes sense. However, every person I dealt with (Dr performing the procedure, anesthesiologist, Dr reviewing the test results etc) all belongs to a separate legal entity with a separate billing department. So I started to receive bills and was wondering “where does the cash I paid up front factor into this?” It doesn’t, that went to the surgery center. I spoke to them (the surgery center), and my insurance, and I only owe them $100, they owe me a big refund, more than enough to cover all of the bills I’m receiving from the various other entities I dealt with that day (for my single procedure at “Jefferson”). However, the surgery center outsources their billing to a lady in Kansas or Kentucky and you have to leave multiple messages and leave a message with the head of the surgery center and eventually she’ll call you back and say “refunds aren’t a priority, it’ll probably be several months until I get a check from them.” But all of the other bills they’re sending me ARE a priority (regular phone calls and notices etc). I’ll probably just pay them AGAIN to avoid any collections/credit damage and then keep after them for god knows how long (it’s already been months) for my refund but it’s very aggravating and I really don’t want to pay them twice and then fight to get back what they owe me based on principal.
