Not a great experience. There's too much to detail because a lot went wrong. I had a long wait at the intake desk, I had to ask for blankets, the lights in the room went out on me four times and I couldn't get up to trip the motion sensor because the rails on the gurney were up. I pushed the call button but then was just sitting in the dark for a long time before someone came. When my surgery time came and went I had to ask what was going on and was told my surgeon (Cohen) just hadn't shown up. I had to ask to see the anesthesiologist. I went in so late I was the last person in recovery and was rushed out the door, still very much feeling the effects of the anesthesia. The nurses were all very nice, so that's a good point. They got my IV in on the first try. Still, if I had a choice, I would never choose this place.

$650 Refund STILL Missing After 4 Months – Unacceptable I am writing to express my outrage at your billing department’s failure to process a $650 refund that was due 3 months ago. While Dr. C provided exceptional surgical care, your administrative incompetence has turned this experience into a nightmare. January 31: Under pressure before surgery, I was forced to pay $650 upfront for anesthesia—money I never owed. Your excuse? “In case your insurance doesn’t cover it.” Yet you had pre-authorization tools to verify coverage. February 20: Received the finalized bill confirming Horizon BCBS fully paid the claim. March: Made multiple calls; Brian @ billing department assured me twice the refund would come by April 20. May 20: THREE MONTHS later, my money is still missing. Your department’s failures: Brian directed me to Bobby Caruthers (responsible for check issuance)—who never answers calls or returns voicemails. Today’s representative hung up on me when I asked for help. Zero accountability. Zero urgency. Zero respect for patients. This is inexcusable. I am DONE waiting. I am planning to contact my financial institution - AMEX By Friday, May 24, to Dispute the charge with AMEX. + File formal complaints with: NJ Division of Consumer Affairs Horizon BCBS Provider Relations The sheer negligence of your billing team has destroyed my trust in your organization. PLEASE ! While your facility and medical staff are outstanding, the billing department has been problematic.

I had a procedure with Dr. Yeuh earlier this week and from her office staff, to the staff at the surgical center, to everything about her - I can't rave enough about my experience. They are very thorough with following up and the staff is exceptionally kind. Dr. Yeuh takes her time explaining everything and made me feel very comfortable. The nurses (Christine and Linda) who cared for me in the OR were angels and I am so thankful for them because I had a very uncomfortable procedure and they did everything to make me feel at ease. If I ever need to do anything else, I will absolutely go back to Dr. Yeuh.

I had a procedure at Vanguard Surgical Center with Dr. Therattil and received nothing but exceptional care from the time in walked in until the time I left. As nervous as I was the morning of surgery, once I entered the facility I felt weight off my shoulders. I was greeted at the front desk with a smile and the attention that made me feel like I wasn’t JUST another patient there for surgery. The same care and attention continued through every phase, pre-op, operating room, post-op. Very very caring staff. This is a spacious, beautiful state of the art, meticulously clean, comfortable waiting area, easy parking , medical facility. I had the best surgeon, physician assistant, nurses, surgical technologist, anesthesiologist, etc. To say I’m extremely pleased with the whole experience is an understatement. Thank you all!

I am a MD who works out of a surgical center, so I have insight into how ambulatory centers work. I had an epidural injection at Vanguard today and the experience from check-in to check-out could not have been better. Every staff member I had an interaction with was polite, caring, kind, and compassionate. The center itself is immaculate and extremely efficient. No one wishes to undergo a surgical procedure, but the staff here made the experience as pleasant and comfortable as possible.
