Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

ColonoscopyA flexible camera examines the full length of the colon to screen for cancer and remove polyps before they become cancerous. Done under sedation, it typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. The bowel prep the day before is the part most patients find hardest.Upper Endoscopy (EGD)A thin camera passed through the mouth examines the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine. Used to investigate persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, unexplained bleeding, or abdominal pain. Usually takes 15 to 30 minutes under sedation.Flexible SigmoidoscopyExamines the lower portion of the colon only, rather than its full length. Preparation is lighter than a full colonoscopy and sedation is sometimes unnecessary, but it cannot detect problems higher in the colon.Capsule EndoscopyYou swallow a vitamin-sized camera that photographs the small intestine as it passes through — a region that standard scopes cannot easily reach. There is no sedation and no recovery. The capsule passes naturally, and images are reviewed after the fact.ERCPCombines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat blockages in the bile and pancreatic ducts, most often gallstones stuck in a duct. Unlike a routine endoscopy, it carries a meaningful risk of pancreatitis afterward, so it is used when treatment is likely rather than for screening alone.Hemorrhoid TreatmentShrinks or removes swollen veins in the rectum and anus using rubber band ligation, injection, or surgical removal depending on severity. Banding is quick and typically requires no anesthesia; surgical removal is more effective for advanced cases but recovery is noticeably more uncomfortable.

I am posting this review on behalf of my mother Eva. She has nothing but raves for the Endo Center, including her most recent experience last week. The care received was top notch from start to finish. Others in the family including myself have also had similar positive experiences. We all highly recommended!

I cannot say anything except that my visit with the Endo center for my colonoscopy yesterday was absolute perfection. I was greeted kindly by the receptionist. I was escorted back and given instructions for changing quickly and concisely. My preop nurse Heather was friendly and efficient and barely pinched me when she put my IV in. My interop nurse Ashley was attentive and got me a warm blanket. And her right hand tech, whose name I have forgotten stood close to me as I was going off to sleep, and it was obvious she was a caring provider! My recovery room nurse Iona was kind, efficient and also provided me a warm blanket immediately. My anesthesia doc Dennis was kind, joked a little with me, and efficient. My CRNA Tara had me very comfortable and when I woke up, I felt calm and warm. Finally what can I say about Dr. Turnier? I've known him for years! He's a wonderful doctor and an incredible nurse advocate, which makes me love him all the more considering I'm a retired RN. I highly recommend going to the endoscopy center for any procedure and I will go nowhere else in the future. Thank you all again. I wish I could've remembered everybody's name. Finally, as the manager of your facility, you should be very proud of your staff And the care that you provide. Lynn Walker

I had a great experience at Endo Center. From checking in, to leaving. Brittany was my nurse and she was very professional, kind and comforting. She went over every single step of my visit and procedure, so I was fully informed. Top notch!

I was highly impressed by how organized the Endocenter at Voorhees is. Absolutely every one there is friendly and communicates clearly. Information and directions are presented upon arrival at each stage of the process, from arrival, to changing clothes, to the actual procedure and then discharge. They have an outstanding system and team. I am very grateful.

Summary: Love Zavala & great team. This is one of the best teams I’ve experienced from a client’s point of view & it seemed like they have a really healthy work dynamic & team. I’ve had SOO many issues with doctors sucking & insurance nightmares but noooo problems from South Jersey Gastro or The Endo Center. Colonoscopys are pretty uncomfortable but they made it the most comfortable experience. 10/10 recommend. The dets: I had my appt back in May & I found my note with all the people I wanted to shoutout for making this the best drs appt I’ve ever had & I came back to deliver. Went in for a colonoscopy (my 2nd) to get poked & probed which is super sketchy, but they put me at complete ease. I lowkey hate drs & all things health insurance but Dr. Zavala is one of my favorite doctors I’ve ever had. She’s professional, pleasant & I don’t get the impression she’s out for my money like some doctors/specialists I’ve had. Shoutout to the rest of the team also: Brittany, Meghan P, Michelle & special shoutout to my pre op Joe. Felt like a friend was prepping me & wasn’t worried about the needle or potentially not waking from anesthesia. 😅 I had a nurse slap my arm after inserting an IV before…none of that torture here. From receptionists at her office to communication with her & procedural team I had complete communication so I had correct expectations of cost, the planned procedure, plenty of notice to take off from work, she prescribed a milder laxative since I have issues. Nurses were good about returning my calls & offering help/advice after I couldn’t keep some of it down before my procedure. Wait time wasn’t long before or during procedure since my partner was waiting on me to take me home. I woke up feeling totally fine & got in a solid nap. Couldn’t tell anything had been done. They handled me respectfully with snacks & patience when I woke up. I was able to eat a meal shortly after & not super drowsy. I’ve had a few procedures & this was just really smooth. I wish all appointments were like this. Thank you guys!! ❤️
