Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Cataract SurgeryThe clouded natural lens of the eye is removed and replaced with a clear artificial one. It is one of the most common outpatient procedures performed in the country, usually takes under 30 minutes per eye, and is done under light sedation with numbing drops rather than general anesthesia.LASIK / Refractive SurgeryA laser reshapes the cornea to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, reducing dependence on glasses or contacts. The procedure itself takes minutes per eye. Vision is often noticeably better within a day, though it can take several weeks to fully stabilize.Glaucoma SurgeryCreates a new drainage path for fluid inside the eye to lower internal pressure. Glaucoma damages the optic nerve silently, so the goal is preventing further vision loss rather than restoring vision already lost. Several minimally invasive options are now performed in outpatient settings.Retinal SurgeryRepairs the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye, most often for a detached or torn retina, or for bleeding related to diabetes. Timing matters — a detaching retina is treated urgently because delay increases the risk of permanent vision loss.Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)Removes excess skin and fat from the upper or lower eyelids. When drooping upper lids block part of the visual field, the procedure is functional rather than cosmetic and is often covered by insurance if visual field testing documents the obstruction.Corneal TransplantReplaces damaged or clouded corneal tissue with donor tissue. Modern techniques often replace only the affected layer rather than the full thickness, which shortens recovery. Vision improves gradually over months, and stitches may stay in place for a year or longer.

I would give this place negative stars if I could…I took my mom in to get eye surgery and waited for 5 Hours!! The procedure itself only took 10-15 mins. We were one of the first ones to get there. We arrived at the center at 7:45. Our appointment was at 8:15. When we checked in, the receptionist told us it would only take 2 hours. I waited and noticed that a lot of patients that came before us is going into the patient area and they are coming out before my mom. I was only in the waiting area so I do not know what is going on inside the patient area as I have no visibility there. When I spoke to my mom post surgery, she was telling me that a patient that came after her got the same procedure done before she did. The service in this place is horrible despite how much we had to pay for the surgery. Do not come here. They will waste your time. Additionally, this place is rancid.

If I could give a negative −3 stars I would. Absolutely no concern for the people. The people behind the desk were useless.

I took my family to this eye doctor and they made us wait 3.5 hours in the common seating area before seating us "inner seating area". Then, the assistant tells its gonna be another hour before they start the procedure. Utterly ridiculous how long you have to wait. We been here for almost 6 hours, still not done, plus there's a lot of people waiting in the seating area and it’s overcrowded and smells bad. The nurse working at the eye surgery reception is also very rude. I agree with the previous comment about having too many patients coming in at the same morning time and making everyone wait

Be ready to wait at least 2hrs in the common seating area before you move into the "inner seating area". I believe the problem is the pre-assigned car service that brings you to the clinic comes to pick you up too early. From 8am-11am, there's a lot of people waiting in the seating area and it gets overcrowded. Idk why people get scheduled to come so early when you're gonna have to wait upwards of 2hrs. There needs to be a better scheduling system so people come by appointment time, instead having many patients coming in at the same time, with no regard of how long a surgery generally takes.
