I had a wonderful experience my colonoscopy went well. My thanks to Doctor Rivadeneira,Doctor Salerno, Jessica, Emily, Jaclyn, Victoria, Michelle, Lisa and Melissa. They were all helpful and friendly which put me at ease. I also want to add the health center was clean and orderly. Thanks again to all‼️ Linda Schrank
Great experience from scheduling to recovery. The team was friendly, thorough with their questions and preparation, the procedure was simple and post op was comfortable.
I am writing to follow up on my recent colonoscopy procedure scheduled through Digestive Health Center based on my primary doctor's referral. My initial experience with the scheduling and consultation with the nurse was exceptionally positive; the process was clearly explained, and the procedure date was arranged efficiently with Dr. I was informed that a release form from my primary care physician would be required, and I was assured I would receive a call the day before the procedure to confirm the time. However, the experience took a significant downturn in the final 24 hours leading up to the procedure. First, I received a call confirming the procedure time. Then, a mere three hours before my first dose of preparatory medication, I received a second call inquiring about my aspirin regimen. I explained that I had stopped taking my 81mg baby aspirin four days prior, as is standard practice before such procedures. To my surprise and considerable distress, the individual on the phone began reprimanding me for stopping the aspirin, using an unnecessarily aggressive and disrespectful tone. He threatened to reschedule my procedure. I attempted to explain that I believed the cessation of a low-dose aspirin four days prior would not significantly impact the procedure, but my explanation was dismissed. His insistent and condescending attitude escalated the situation, leading me to request a cancellation of the appointment. He refused this request and instead insisted on rescheduling. This is deeply concerning, as the rescheduling now requires me to readjust my work schedule, causing considerable inconvenience. My primary concern is the unacceptable level of disrespect and unprofessional conduct demonstrated by this staff member. I believe that a review of the clinic's patient interaction training protocols would be beneficial to ensure that all patients are treated with the courtesy and dignity they deserve. Alex Inanir
Had colonoscopy done at this facility. The experience was mostly positive. The nurses were nice, aides also. It was definitely a bit over crowded in recovery room. When i was done with procedure, I felt very rushed to leave. They kept asking me when my ride was coming. It was a bit annoying. I don't like to be rushed, especially after a procedure like this. They should really respect people's time....
I contacted this office to schedule an appointment with a doctor listed on the Northwell website, highly recommended, and supposedly working out of your office. When I called, I spoke with Shawn, who greeted me with nothing but sarcasm and attitude. When I asked to book an appointment, he acted like he had no clue who I was talking about—apparently, there's no such doctor there. I informed him that the Northwell website clearly lists this doctor at both Bayshore and Huntington locations. His response? “Well, this is Huntington, not Bayshore." Fine, got it. I’m calling the number your website provides. But Shawn’s reply was basically a verbal shrug, saying there’s no such doctor there, and that he could give me the Bayshore number. When I suggested they might want to update their website, his sarcastic “Okay, well I’ll get on that” was the cherry on top. Look, I get that people have off days, but taking out your frustrations on someone just trying to point out a mistake isn’t the way to go. Your staff clearly needs a crash course on basic human decency over the phone. Not everyone is up for being verbally mistreated by a stranger. Shawn, you really *should* get on that. It’s probably part of your job description to report errors that cause confusion for patients and your office. Do better.
