In July of 2025, I had surgery at this facility. It was overcrowded with patients and very rushed. When the nurses attempted to put my IV in, they kept trying, giving me marks and bruises then realized the IV was Not set up correctly. My arms were so bruised it looked as if I was beaten up. The gurney and medical equipment appeared as from a scene an old mental institution. The equipment was very outdated. The nurses were discussing how much someone urinated on the floor during an operation never mentioning if they cleaned it or not. This makes me question if they are operating in unsanitary, unsafe conditions. They forced me out of the hospital even though I was still heavily sedated. Upon returning home, I realized they chipped my front tooth. This must happen often because they asked me several times prior to surgery if I had any tooth fillings. The staff must have yanked the tube out so violently, it chipped my tooth. According to family members, I was drowsy for days, repeating the same things. This is an indication of over sedating. This facility conducts many eye transplants. I would not go there for surgery on the precaution of losing an eye or your life due to negligence.
This facility knew I was in a wheelchair and would need help transferring to a stretcher for my procedure. When we got to my appointment (cancelled work, etc) we were told that they "couldn't risk" their staff's backs to help me transfer. When I offered to do it myself, they said "no, you'll be too groggy from meds." The appointment was cancelled as I was in the waiting room.
Everybody I know really looks forward to their screening Colonoscopy and/or EGD (yeah right!) Because the care was exceptional I would like to credit the folks who cared for me during this potentially embarrassing yet necessary screen. First the call from Lauren the day prior - quick efficient and knowledgeable - delightful personality with a great sense of humor. Check in day of - Maureen - efficient kind pleasant and also lovely sense of humor Pre-op Check in - Kristin - professional and efficient The team - Susan who is very good at starting IV's - painless and quick Lauren (who couldn't wait to see my esophagus lol- and Mary (whose hair apparently bulks up with humidity) these gals are in the room with me - ultimate comfort level - loved their personalities! Dr Sands - quick with Anesthesia - was out like a light instantly and woke with no issue - perfect! And Tim - the D/C nurse - excellent, friendly and kind And of course - Dr Elizabeth Gregory - she's phenomenal - so glad I found her after my original Dr moved on The facility is a bit dated - but frankly - who cares?! The care was exceptional - this team is 5 star (out of 5!) From beginning to end (no pun intended - lol) Thanks to all!
this “surgery center” for colonoscopy resembled more of a school nurses office. in pre-op there are 3-4 beds tightly crammed together with only curtains separating patients. no room for anyone whatsoever and wheres the doctor patient confidentiality? another thing Id like to mention is I am 20 years old. this was my first procedure and I was VERY anxious, particularly over the anesthesia as I have never been under. I asked on my pre-op phone call if I could receive anxiety medication. I was told they will put a note at the top of my chart and as soon as I see the anesthesiologist he will be able to give me something. I asked again once they took me back to pre-op and they told me the same thing. once I see the anesthesiologist I asked him and he said no as it will only prolong my recovery time. at this point I cant hold back my tears and they start rolling me back to the surgery room. they told me as soon as they put the bite block in my mouth I will be asleep. instead my whole entire arm began to burn. it felt like someone had set a fire on my hand that quickly raced up to my shoulder and chest. I bawled until I was under. Most nurses here are very sweet, but this experience was absolutely horrid. ONLY giving 2 stars because the amazing and kind pink haired nurse that I had, otherwise it would be a 1.
I'm not one to normally leave reviews but my experience here was just so wonderful! These were the nicest people from the woman at the front desk to the nurses and doctors. Genuinely so sweet, attentive, and comforting. Hopefully I don't have to- but if I medically must- I would absolutely go here again. I have never been treated so kindly in a medical environment.
