Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Epidural Steroid InjectionsSteroid medication is injected near irritated spinal nerve roots to calm inflammation causing sciatica or arm pain. Often used to make physical therapy tolerable rather than as a standalone cure. There are limits on how frequently they can be repeated.Nerve Block InjectionsAnesthetic, sometimes with steroid, is injected around a specific nerve to interrupt pain signals. Used both to treat pain and to identify its source, since relief from a precisely placed block points to the nerve responsible.Radiofrequency AblationHeat generated by radio waves disables the small nerves carrying pain signals from an arthritic spinal joint. Relief commonly lasts six months to two years. Because the nerves regenerate over time, the procedure can be repeated.Spinal Cord StimulationA device delivers mild electrical pulses to the spinal cord to interrupt chronic pain signals before they reach the brain. A temporary trial period is done first, so you can judge the benefit before committing to a permanent implant.Joint InjectionsSteroid or lubricating medication is injected directly into an arthritic or inflamed joint. Image guidance is often used to confirm placement. Relief typically lasts weeks to months and can make physical therapy more productive.Trigger Point InjectionsA local anesthetic is injected into a taut, tender knot of muscle to break the spasm-and-pain cycle. The appointment takes minutes and you can usually return to normal activity the same day.

Went in for a procedure I was super nervous about, but every last person that I encountered, from the reception desk to the anesthesiologists were amazing! Everyone was so genuinely nice and funny and smart. I knew I was in good hands. When I had an issue prior to the actual surgery, they FIXED IT. They didn’t make me suffer or feel guilty or embarrassed. They just fixed it. I can’t say enough good things about Atlas. Exceptional people going way above and beyond. That’s real care that I haven’t ever experienced before at such a stellar level. ❤️

I can’t say enough good things about my care at Atlas. All of the doctors were attentive and courteous. The nurses were incredible. I wish I could remember their names. I felt as if I was their only patient. They were knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. You are in good hands when you are there.

The way the staff treats you -from reception to recovery- was the absolute best. I was really nervous and they made sure they explained every step thoroughly. The nurses are almost motherly- in the best way. Huge thank you to Tuesday! I have nothing but good things to say about the staff and cleanliness of the facility.

I had an ACDF multi level done on 10/17 at Atlas. My experience was absolutely wonderful from start to finish! Every single nurse and doctor was extremely friendly, compassionate, and informational. I felt comfortable to express my needs. One nurse held my hand several times to calm my nerves, for which I am very grateful! Thank you all again for a great experience, and I highly, highly recommend this facility…

I had surgery yesterday on my back at this surgery center. . From the time I walked into Atlas there wasn’t one person who wasn’t kind and helpful. My nurses Tuesday and Alec were so reassuring and very kind at every moment, because I was very nervous, they explained the procedure from beginning to end answering all my questions. The anesthesiologist was awesome and Dr Pollina and PA Cheryl were just reassuring. The experience was the best I have had in any surgery, and I have had many, unfortunately. I would not hesitate to recommend this center to anyone. Thank you Atlas.
