I had surgery at Rex Cary on February 4 and it was a great experience. The staff, from the front desk to the fellow that helped me leave in a wheelchair, was considerate and professional. The nursing and surgical teams are better than any I’ve encountered.

Having surgery is generally not a pleasant experience but every person I encountered was was kind and welcoming. This includes reception, registration, all of the nurses, anesthesiologist, etc. They all had amazing bedside manner and made me feel at ease. The center is nice as well and they have a system in place so those in the waiting room can monitor the progress, as far as when the surgery is ongoing, when the patient has moved to recovery. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

DO NOT PAY YOUR DEDUCTIBLE TO THEM!!! They will ask you to pay what they estimate you’ll owe as soon as you arrive on your surgery day. If you have not met your deductible they will add that to what they are asking you to pay. Do not pay your deductible to them! My surgeon’s bill hit my insurance first so they are billing me the $500 deductible meanwhile REX Surgical Center has the $500 I paid on surgery day and it is taking weeks for them to refund. I paid with a credit card but they will not refund on the card. Instead, I’m waiting on a paper check to arrive in the mail. What a waste of time and money on everyone’s part not to mention the unnecessary frustration and time wasted they are putting on patients. Not cool at all! Lesson learned - never ever pay any center or provider your deductible until after the procedure and after it’s all been run your insurance. Shame on you, Rex Surgical Center! You know this is happening to patients!

I received truly excellent care from the exceptional staff at the REX Surgery Center of Cary. Every person we encountered from the receptionist to the surgeon was amazing. In short, I could feel the compassion and caring at every step in a what was a well organized and efficient operation (I guess pun intended). As odd as it may sound, I was actually somewhat sad to leave after my bilateral inguinal hernia surgery. Simply Outstanding by any and all measures :)
