The nurses, doctors, anesthesiologists, and the facility itself deserve a five star rating. Their billing practice is something else. They made me pay ahead before the surgery. After all the claims were finalized by my insurance, I saw that this surgery center owes me over $700. They got a check by my insurance but they still want to dispute with my insurance over the charges. In the meantime, they are refusing to refund me my money. The disputing process might take forever, I don't see why they can't refund the money they owe me and send me a bill later. I have already met my deductible by now so whatever, if any, I am going to owe them won't be much but they are holding a lot of my money. I need this money NOW to pay other providers. Such a GREEDY operation!

The care was good, the billing department is incompetent at best. I was told multiple times by the rude lady on the phone that they would only take the full amount due on day of surgery. When I asked if they had a care credit provider they worked with I was told there was no such thing available. Imagine my surprise when I show up on the day of surgery, and the lady who was checking me in and taking payment had brochures for a care credit Wakemed uses! I asked if that wouldn’t work for my specific surgery and was told it would cover it no problem. I explained I was told over the phone that no such thing existed multiple times. I ended up paying the full amount on a different card, so finding out I was lied to didn’t end up mattering. It added so much extra stress to my life needing to find $3000 of extra money on a two week notice. I almost declined the surgery. So to all other people being harassed by this unprofessional lady on the phone, you can put the payment on a care credit card. I wonder how many people have been misled by their billing department and had to cancel their surgery they needed. It is very sad to think about. Now I’m being harassed 3 months later about additional charges. When I asked what the charges were she said she couldn’t tell me. I told her she needs to find what they are if I’m going to pay them, and she told me it doesn’t matter. She wasn’t going to find out what the extra fees were even for. Awful experience overall once you consider the lack of professionalism and stress added to my surgery from Wakemed surgery center Cary billing department.

Cary Surgery Center is a wonderful facility for outpatient procedures. Dr. Eric Duberman removed my gallbladder. All staff was phenomenal especially Tony (he was a great nurse).
