Dont expect the dr to meet you before any procedures. Had 2 spent maybe 3 mins with DR. PA is very knowledgeable and great but im paying for the md not the pa. Go somewhere else if you want to see a dr before your procedures.

I am sharing my experience so others will benefit, especially if you're a Military Veteran. On 7/1 I arrived at the Tryon Endoscopy Ctr. in Ballantyne, NC at 12:25 pm having to be there at 1 pm for a 2 pm procedure, colonoscopy and endoscopy. After prepping for the last couple of days and having to stop certain medications up to 8 plus days prior I was more than ready to get this over with. I'm a U.S. Navy Veteran and had to go out to Community Care, who were fantastic through all of this especially since the VA couldn't schedule me within 30 days for an appointment. I also have a great PCP outside the VA with Tryon Med. Partners who recommended me to the Tryon Endoscopy Ctr. who also carry the name of Tryon Medical Partners. I was told by the receptionist that Tryon Med Partners have nothing to do with this facility and they are an Ambulatory Care Ctr. having no affiliation with Tryon Med Partners which at that point I became totally confused. I had all the proper paperwork in hand and had done everything needed leading up to this. I even had to go to Southpark for a consultation and exam on 6/16 with my Doctors PA who told me that all procedures were now being done in Ballantyne, NC which was better for me being much closer, so I called to schedule the appointment from the paperwork the PA had given me after my exam. The receptionist at the Tryon Endoscopy Ctr. continued to tell me that even the Tryon Gastrointestinal Clinic in Southpark wasn't affiliated with them even though the Doctor doing my procedure was in Ballantyne and I had just seen his PA 2 weeks prior getting everything in order. I've had colonoscopies and endoscopies since I was 43 years old and never went through what I had to go through today in order to get this procedure done. I even had to get the VA Community Care Dept. on the phone and let them speak to the receptionist at Tryon Endoscopy Ctr. telling her that everything was good to go, yet the receptionist continued to question the validity of the paperwork I had handed to her. She couldn't figure a way to input the information into her computer even though everything she needed was there right in front of her she was continually asking everybody how to do it. Around 2 pm my wife and I were getting very frustrated at what was happening having to go through this nightmare scenario so I asked the receptionist if she'd please get the nurse so I could get this procedure started while she was trying to figure all of this out. She had everything she needed, speaking to VA Community Care who repeatedly said everything was authorized and the paperwork was all in order including having proper VA identification right in front of her. Even after telling me she she would get the nurse to begin the prep work needed to have the procedure, it was still over 30 minutes for the nurse to come out because the receptionist was obsessed with figuring out how to input the information into her computer. She didn't know where to go or how to do it and continually questioned the way the VA authorization read making numerous calls. This was all about making sure that proper payment responsibility was in place regardless, prior to the procedure getting done. It didn't matter what I had to go through getting ready for this procedure, especially being a diabetic having had nothing to eat in almost 36 hours, nothing to drink for at least 8 hours and stopping certain meds for up to 8 plus days before my procedure. My health and well being at that point wasn't a concern to her at all. Come hell or high water she was going to make sure proper payment was in order prior to anything else getting done. It was now after 2:30 pm and the nurse finally came and got me to begin all the prep work necessary for my procedure. The Doctor and his staff who were all very professional and did a fantastic job, 5 stars for them. Thank you to the Doctor, his entire team and even to his PA at Tryon Medical Partners Gastrointestinal Clinic South Park location. Dean Baklavas

No one wants to just casually discuss having a colonoscopy and there's still a stigma about it, but once we turn 45 it is part of our adult reality. I was absolutely terrified of having this procedure but the staff here were exceptional at their level of patient care. I lost track of how many times I phoned the office with questions about the prep process and my procedure. I wanted to make sure I was following the instructions clearly and correctly. Everyone I spoke with was helpful, professional, and compassionate. Having any kind of endoscopy procedure is not going to be the most fun you've ever had, but the staff here try to make the experience go as well as possible. As a patient, you should be aware that the sedation for a scope procedure is likely different from anything you have experienced before. Once you wake up in recovery, you will likely feel the effects of sedation for a while. You will be given privacy to dress after the procedure, so be careful while getting dressed in the recovery room. If you need assistance, please ask so they can come help you. You will be groggy and unsteady for a while, so try to stay seated as much as you can. A staff member will stay with you outside while waiting for your driver to pick you up. From appointment scheduling to after care instructions, you can put your trust in this office for your procedure to be as smooth and efficient as possible.

From the ease of making an appointment all the way to the actual colonoscopy, the staff including the receptionist and front office staff, were kind, friendly, and really knew their stuff. The nurses were so knowledgeable and friendly and made me feel comfortable having never been put to sleep before. I was finished in less than two hours.

Tryon Endoscopy Center is top-notch. I received a detailed packet of information, phone call reminders, and additional explanations upon arrival. The facility is conveniently located and easy to access. Everyone from the scheduler to the facility staff to the doctor were so kind and caring. They even called to check on me in the days after my colonoscopy. Even though my general practitioner is not a part of Tryon Medical Partners it was a simple process for her to send in a referral and I was easily scheduled. Many of us can identify with this type of procedure seemingly being a scary process. Thank you Tryon Endoscopy Center for making it such a seamless and successful experience.
