Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Cataract SurgeryThe clouded natural lens of the eye is removed and replaced with a clear artificial one. It is one of the most common outpatient procedures performed in the country, usually takes under 30 minutes per eye, and is done under light sedation with numbing drops rather than general anesthesia.LASIK / Refractive SurgeryA laser reshapes the cornea to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, reducing dependence on glasses or contacts. The procedure itself takes minutes per eye. Vision is often noticeably better within a day, though it can take several weeks to fully stabilize.Glaucoma SurgeryCreates a new drainage path for fluid inside the eye to lower internal pressure. Glaucoma damages the optic nerve silently, so the goal is preventing further vision loss rather than restoring vision already lost. Several minimally invasive options are now performed in outpatient settings.Retinal SurgeryRepairs the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye, most often for a detached or torn retina, or for bleeding related to diabetes. Timing matters — a detaching retina is treated urgently because delay increases the risk of permanent vision loss.Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)Removes excess skin and fat from the upper or lower eyelids. When drooping upper lids block part of the visual field, the procedure is functional rather than cosmetic and is often covered by insurance if visual field testing documents the obstruction.Corneal TransplantReplaces damaged or clouded corneal tissue with donor tissue. Modern techniques often replace only the affected layer rather than the full thickness, which shortens recovery. Vision improves gradually over months, and stitches may stay in place for a year or longer.

I am very satisfied with Dr Handler. He put me at ease about what he saw in my eyes. Explained what needed to be done in a way that I understood the procedure. I am a happy patient.

Dr.brown should not be working with infants was very rough with my child and talked down to me about an 8 month old jumping told me " it's not about what they like it's about what we like and what we need to do to get done" when we brought up her unprofessionalism to the front desk we were kicked out and my child was witheld care and his prescription was canceled . Another mother in the parking lot CONFIRMED how rude she was and was told she wouldn't be able to afford her child's glasses because she was on MEDICAID. We were looked down upon for being young parents and being on Medicaid she acted like we weren't worth her time .Terrible experience I was so taken aback the entire time I was speechless.

Personable Professional staff. Always greated in a timely manner when I arrive. I simply Love Dr. Lark. He is extremely thoughtful thorough Personable as well. He treats you for what is needed. Does not believe in doing surgery unless it is absolutely necessary. I highly recommend him Cataract and Glaucoma patients.

I was examined thoroughly before my problematic cataract surgery and experienced no difficulties with it on either eye. Dr. Lark did an excellent job and prior to the surgery briefed me thoroughly on what might expect and the likely percentage of that occurring. The treatment with Omni eyedrops and ointment became a trying daily routine for what seemed a long time. However, I was just released from Lark's care being pronounced that I had an excellent result from it all and my resulting eyesight was 20/20 in one eye and close to 20/25 in the other. So after postponing cataract surgery for may years, I am very happy with the result. And this includes knowledge, treatment and care from the team members as well as from one who excels in his profession as a cataract surgeon.
