This review is in reference to the quiet cove location. First, Dr Nakala is a great doctor! His PA, Sarah DiMartino, is not up to standards. She doesn't have bedside manners and talks very condescending! Very unacceptable! My labs and imaging shows enlarged liver and severe steatosis and NASH! She said it doesn't cause any pain and that my images didn't show an enlarged liver. There are several that show my liver is at the upper limit of being enlarged. When messaged about the results. She says to follow the diet we talked about at the visit. I could if a diet had actually been discussed. She never once mentioned a diet, eating different or anything. Just very smart mouth and condescending. I do not trust her opinions, because looking at the test results, she refuses to acknowledge the facts or try to help. I wonder how many other patients have left that office due to her unprofessional behavior. I went to the front desk to asked for my records to be faxed over to Pinehurst Medical, because I'm sure they are more qualified and definitely more professional than Sarah! The front desk person, Donna, won't let you get a word in. She over talks and won't listen and talks a little condescending but not nearly as much as Sarah. But eventually I helped her to understand what i needed. Dr Nakala, if you see or read this, you may want to check in on how she is treating your patients. I'm sure I'm not the only person she has ran off. Can hardly wait to be seen by a professional instead of Sarah. Good luck to you all!
The personnel are very kind and every procedure is professionally executed. However, to make more money, they file your insurance as a "surgery" instead of routine screening, and you get billed by your insurance at 30% copay, instead of being covered 100%. They do not disclose it during the initial consultation, which is very shady. I will not return for this practice alone.
I was sooooooooo nervous - blood pressure was at like 150 over a hundred and something. (First time) However I had some amaaazing people that cared for me - the two ladies that started my IV and did the questioning (Ashley and I forgot the other but she was so nice too). The people that actually took me through the process and ensured I was comfortable, ok, and came to and needed - Dr. Daniels, Mr. Al Hardy, Mrs. Kaitlyn, and Mrs. Blair - man what a blessing this was after me wrecking my brain on in fear and they really used their experience and did their thing and I was in and out - like nothing ever happened - THANK YALL SO SO MUCH!!!!!!!
First let me be clear this review is not a reflection of the original Fayetteville Gastro office but for the "sister office" located at 2015 Valleygate Dr. The reason for my visit at this time was simply needing a prescription refill but since I'm doing well and not been in the office in so long I had to have an office visit. I have been a patient with one specific Dr for18 years and never have I felt disrespected or below anyone at this office. On my last visit my Dr was unavailable but was reassured the PA they scheduled me to see would be good. Against my better judgement and needing the medication I agreed. Never was it ever mentioned the Dr I was seeing is at a different office than the one I have always been to. I check in (early) the day of my visit along with several others. Once the receptionist called me forward, it was after my scheduled time. She informed me I was suppose to be at the other office; I immediately left and asked her to call to let them know of the confusion... as she did. As I was checking in again and trying to explain the confusion I was greeted with a very rude and disrespectful receptionist who stated let me check if the Dr is still available... there are no other patients in the office; she literally walked around the corner and returned saying the Dr was unavailable and I needed to reschedule the appt. After an attempt to talk to this employee and confirm I would not get a refill without being seen by a medical staff. This employee continued speaking to me in a rude and condescending manner. I was then contacted by phone from the original office and advised I would be seen if I returned to the office. There I was greeted with a very apologetic receptionist who is always very caring and concerned with my wellbeing. I was also told by staff this is not the first negative complaint from patients about the receptionist at that location. I don't want to see this rude treatment at this secondary location have a negative impact on my Dr's office at the primary location because they have always been professional, caring, polite, courteous and genuinely concerned for my health.
My grandmother was at Cape fear between Thursday and she left today on November 3rd. The doctor treating her there was vorder bruegge. She begin bleeding again from her ulcer before bed. So I called the number on the paper to speak with vorder bruegge. He was on call. I received a call back in 2 minutes, it was nice and quick. I told him my grandmothers name and who I was and what was going on. His exact words were "you're talking about her like I know who she is. I'm not infront of my computer". What kind of doctor calls a patient back and doesn't even have the nerve to go on his computer to look at her documents to tell me what I should do??? Pos.
