Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

ColonoscopyA flexible camera examines the full length of the colon to screen for cancer and remove polyps before they become cancerous. Done under sedation, it typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. The bowel prep the day before is the part most patients find hardest.Upper Endoscopy (EGD)A thin camera passed through the mouth examines the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine. Used to investigate persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, unexplained bleeding, or abdominal pain. Usually takes 15 to 30 minutes under sedation.Flexible SigmoidoscopyExamines the lower portion of the colon only, rather than its full length. Preparation is lighter than a full colonoscopy and sedation is sometimes unnecessary, but it cannot detect problems higher in the colon.Capsule EndoscopyYou swallow a vitamin-sized camera that photographs the small intestine as it passes through — a region that standard scopes cannot easily reach. There is no sedation and no recovery. The capsule passes naturally, and images are reviewed after the fact.ERCPCombines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat blockages in the bile and pancreatic ducts, most often gallstones stuck in a duct. Unlike a routine endoscopy, it carries a meaningful risk of pancreatitis afterward, so it is used when treatment is likely rather than for screening alone.Hemorrhoid TreatmentShrinks or removes swollen veins in the rectum and anus using rubber band ligation, injection, or surgical removal depending on severity. Banding is quick and typically requires no anesthesia; surgical removal is more effective for advanced cases but recovery is noticeably more uncomfortable.

I have nothing but good things to say. This practice is very nice. The people are extremely attentive, and the staff couldn't of been more professional. As a person with a history of these types of procedures, I can say this was my best experience. My only complaint is in not receiving communication about upcoming appointments, confirming the appointment, etc. One I made the appointment I never received any of the follow up reminders about the appointment. I brought this to the staffs attention and was assured that was being addressed. But the experience was worthy of 5 stars.

The doctor who did my endo was amazing. However my experience since has been far from great… I was sent a bill FOR THE SAME PROCEDURES same codes and all one was from DHP and one from CMG… they Hd billed my insurance under both so I peer $1700 which is odd I already paid a deposit which I was informed would go toward my deductible (the deductible being $1200) now I understand there is sometimes a miss communication but I have BEEN CALLING FOR OVER A YEAR. To try and pay this bill or get any answers. No one will talk to me.

I was hesitant to go to CMG due to the issues people have written about in these reviews but so far I have received stellar service. The scheduling was fine, the front office was excellent and the nurses and doctor were very caring and professional. The nurse who brought me to the back and prepped me was wonderful. Her name is Becky. She set me at ease right away and even brought me two warm blankets. My anesthesiologist nurse was very sweet too. Everyone put me right at ease. I met the doctor (Dr Rakoff) before the procedure and he was also kind and professional. I have zero complaints about CMG and would definitely recommend them. Thank you!

I received great care at CMG/DHP. I was dreading getting the IV, but from the moment I met Ellie I felt at ease. She was thoughtful, kind, professional, and did an excellent job. Dr. Rackoff, Bernard the nurse, and the amazing anesthesiologist with the cool pink glasses (whose name escapes me) also did a wonderful job. It was totally worth the drive to Hendersonville. A big thank you to the whole team! You guys rock!
