My daughter had ear tube surgery 3/12/25 with Dr Grafenberg and some instructions for her antibiotics were unclear and incorrect. I called today,3/14/25 and used the number listed on her discharge papers for any questions that were given TWO DAYS AGO and the receptionist answered and said I had the wrong number?? It was the correct number 2 days ago. I also called the normal ENT office where she went for the consult and the voicemail said the inbox is full and you cannot leave any messages! If you have any issues or complications, you are S.O.L because they cannot update any paperwork or their phone systems, apparently. Do NOT use this place for anuthing!
Dr Kurt P. Wohrab is the worst possible option for ANYONE looking to get surgery. He talks over you, too busy to talk more than a minute over the phone, and all of his team follows suit. He doesn’t care about his patients or their well-being after surgery. THE DAY OF my daughter’s ACL surgery, he was 3 hours behind. No one told us they would be late, they let us sit in the pre-op room for hours. We did not see him before or after the surgery. He called after he was finished and talked to us for 14 seconds, stating the surgery went well and my daughter woke up fine. That’s it. Nothing else. He gave my daughter THREE DAYS out of school to heal… which was not what he originally promised before surgery. My daughter was taking hours to get in/out of bed and couldn’t bend her leg at all. She cried from the pain several times even with pain medication. I called and spoke to his team, they said THREE DAYS was enough. When I finally reached him and told him about my daughter, he didn’t care. He talked over me and refused to give her more time out of school. Said her grades were more important. Went to another doctor and he gave us more time out, he could tell her knee wasn’t ready. Just try to find a doctor that actually cares about his patients after the surgery is done.
We had to wait 2 hours past my son’s scheduled time. He’s only 9 so you can imagine the discomfort. His doctor was amazing. Post op nurse/cna with the the hair is AWFUL. She “checked” my sons vitals then asked for help for my sons BP and they never even came to get it. So you’re telling me you have someone working for post op SURGERY who can’t take bp? A little alarming. Along with the fact they don’t help with going to the bathroom or anything - mind you my 9 year old has a “fall risk” bracelet. Do better.
The Doctor was really nice and gave us a diagnosis and recommended surgery. It was ALL downhill from there. We are scheduled for surgery tomorrow. We got no phone calls for prep/arrival time etc. We called them. After three phone trees and leaving numerous messages we get a call to tell us 6AM. They had been placing phone calls to our teenage daughter…how they got that phone number I will never know. We get a call at 2:30 telling us they have not received an approval from the insurance company and if they don’t have one by 4:30 we will have to pay in cash. We call the insurance company. They tell us the surgical center didn’t submit any approval for her surgery until 2 pm TODAY. Insurance also tells us they can expedite the request, but the provider has to request it. We call them back. They say don’t worry about it. They will call to get it expedited. They call back at 400 to tell us it’s not been approved and we will need to pay almost $4000 before she can have the surgery. We tell them about the call TWENTY minutes ago where THEY called and said we were fine. They say we are not fine. We call insurance. While we are waiting on hold, they call back. They tell us we are fine, we just might have to sign an authorization form saying we will pay if insurance does not. It’s 4:10. They call back at 4:30 telling us no authorization has come through and to be prepared to pay almost $4000 in the morning. We tell them they just called and told us we could sign a form. The lady is rude, blunt. She tells us she is going home. She tells us she is NOT coming back until 9 tomorrow. She tells us NO ONE will be there to see if it has been authorized. She tells us to be prepared to pay $4000. She hangs up. So here it is, 8 pm, the night before surgery. My wife is a mess, with worry. Our daughter has a genetic condition and is on Medicaid for life because of it. We have prepared our five year old for this. We have rearranged our work schedules to be there for tomorrow, which is an hour away, and for the rest of the week for recovery. We still have NO IDEA what’s going to happen in the morning. Will we be approved? Will we sign a paper? Will we be turned away? We don’t know….and they clearly do NOT care. What an absolute circus. Everyone is 100% worried about money. Is anyone there at all concerned for a 5 year old with MCADD that’s is petrified? I guess they will be, once I pay them to pretend to care. The docs are nice, but the behind the scenes appears to be a comedy show….except no one is laughing. HUGE thumbs down.
Very professional and friendly staff, they took great care of us. Excellent clean facility with amazing medical personnel. They even pre-warm the blankets before they put them on you! So thoughtful! They really are concerned about your comfort and care. They are also fast, no long waits and everyone was hustling but not rushing. Compared to the medical facilities I have gone to in Fayetteville, this is like a five star hotel to Fayettevilles motel six surgical clinics. There is a status board in the lobby so you can see how your friend is progressing and there is a complimentary coffee bar in the lobby also. Overall great experience, I would highly recommend.
