I had a colonoscopy earlier this week and have to share the excellent experience I had at Carolina Gastroenterology. Right away, I noticed that each employee cared about my comfort and well-being. Through the intake, IV, anesthesia, procedure, and recovery, everyone introduced themselves, communicated clearly, and was kind and professional. I’ve never had an IV go in and out so easily without any bruising- Juliet is an absolute pro. Latrice, Nikki, Amy, Amanda, Juliet, Dr. Lakshman, and Jennifer who called to check on me today, thank you all for making what can be an intimidating experience as seamless and comfortable as possible. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it.

I have been seeing Dr. Lakshman for over 16 years. The office staff is always extremely kind and professional. Dr. Lakshman takes his time with patients and will answer any question you may have with ease and an explanation that is easy to understand. He is brilliant and an excellent doctor. Proud to have a doctor like this in Wilson!

My family has been seeing Dr. Lakshman and his wonderful staff for over 15 years. Not only does he and his staff genuinely care about your well being but they treat you like family and will spend as much time that’s needed to answer any and all questions you may have . We admire their friendliness and professionalism in all they do .

WHERE IS YOUR PRACTICE MANAGER????? That MANAGES????? Perhaps she was the one ducking and crawling on the floor at reception desk to avoid speaking to patients. I was in office with my family member on 9/5 and overheard a situation regarding a patient that had been asking for assistance with her medical records for quite some time. The front desk tried to advocate and communicate the best they can with patient and answer questions but at some point DO YOUR JOB. Upon further conversations with other patients, I learned, they too, can never get her to return calls nor simply answer the phone to speak with a patient. We have been helped more by reception staff with concerns management should have handled then the manager. This is a problem and should be addressed. Crawling on the floor is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. I hope Dr. Lakshman finds an appropriate candidate to fill this role soon.

My husband was scheduled for a colonoscopy today, May 14 at 10:30. We arrived at 10:15 only to be told that the appointment was cancelled because there was no anesthesiologist available. We were told they tried to reach him at his cell number, which the receptionist repeated correctly, yet he has no missed calls from the office and no voicemail. We were told multiple calls were made at the beginning of the month. Again, no missed calls on his phone or mine. We came home to find one missed call on May 3 from the office, but no voicemail. We haven't listed our land line as a point of contact for years so I'm not sure why that number was even used. Nonetheless, there was no voicemail anywhere advising us of the cancellation. So, my husband prepped and suffered for a procedure that never happened. We were not offered any alternative other than to reschedule. We will not return to this unprofessional office. You would think an actual verbal contact with the patient would be required, or at least more than one phone call WITH a voicemail. Text message would be a fantastic option since this is 2024! We both missed days of work and now must do this all over again. I noticed another review with this exact situation and the office's response was "this has never happened before." Seems like this may be more common than they are willing to admit.
