I am writing to express my concerns regarding the recurring issues with insurance billing and overall service at your facility. *As an aside, thank you for finally issuing my refund check of $211; this new note on refund was written on April 1st, 2025. Firstly, the persistent challenges in navigating insurance billing—both before and after service—are causing unnecessary stress. It is frustrating to receive calls from your collection agent, Ken, regarding amounts that appear to stem from overcharging. I have been instructed to return every three months, only for appointments to be delayed for several months instead. Additionally, I am required to visit the Pain Treatment Clinic—incurring separate bills—prior to scheduling an MRI review each year. Despite claims that these entities are unaffiliated, I was still required to see the Pain Treatment Clinic's PA. Whom I have written their also a review and will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General office and reporting these issues. Four years ago, I underwent back fusion surgery with rods, and since then, I have been charged $500 per visit, without sedation, while continuing to face harassment over these payments. This approach is both disheartening and unfair, placing an undue burden on patients. Furthermore, my experience at the Pain Treatment Center has been far from satisfactory. The nurses have exhibited unprofessional and dismissive behavior, making patients feel undervalued, and appointments are often pushed out by several weeks. While my initial visits were pleasant, the service has dramatically declined, especially when insurance charges were questioned. The injections I received last October worsened my symptoms. Now, only one week before my upcoming appointment, I am being asked to pay $600 for that visit, in addition to $900 for an appointment scheduled in May. These charges are still under review by my insurance, and it is not my responsibility to resolve billing overcharges. I strongly urge your facility to address these issues promptly and implement a transparent and patient-centered process moving forward. As a healthcare provider, maintaining professionalism and treating patients with respect should be fundamental principles of your business operations. Please consider this feedback carefully, as I will not be returning.
Just got home from surgery an hour ago, I will admit I was very nervous and apprehensive about the whole process since this was my first surgery. I want to thank everyone at BSA for taking phenomenal care of me. Thank you to my surgeon Dr. Carlson, my nurses Emily and Marley, and my anesthesiologists Dr. Carlson and Carla you are all top notch professionals! To anyone that goes to BSA just know you will be taken care of!
I had a cervical neck nerve block preformed two weeks ago. I was having a lot of nerve pain and neck spasms and migraine headaches by the evening of the procedure. I suffered through the weekend and talked to a nurse on Monday explaining the symptoms I was having and asked if this was a typical response to this type of injection. Her response to me was to contact my primary caregiver or go to the emergency room. I asked to speak to the doctor who gave my injection or the FNP who met with me for my initial appointment. I was denied permission to to speak to either of them. I called two days later and spoke to the same nurse and I was told once again to contact my primary caregiver or go to an emergency room. She said I could not speak to the doctor or the FNP. I am still in pain. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!
Rt Rotator Cuff surgery on 5/18/23.During intubation, anesthesia tore my trachea, 3cmx8cmx1.7cm laceration and my Rt. tonsil, which led to an emergency room visit two days later with me thinking I had a stroke. I had Facial Paralysis and an infection in the laceration site. Had a second surgery by an ENT to correct issue. Still having trouble swallowing, eating, taking meds. Neither the Nurse Anesthetist and Primary Anesthesiologist let me know to watch for an issue. Too bad many Dr.’s are affiliated with this place. You cannot choose another facility with same Dr. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Didn't even know I was done today! Even with sedation! First time was in May 2022 at this facility. I had another today. Excellent and friendly staff! Nurses are top notch! Dr. Carlson is fantastic and gentle! Thank you for the relief! Was going to another facility since 2017. The relief did not last more than a few weeks. Thankful to find you guys!
