Recently several practioners that I had worked with at Dayton Gastro retired or left the practice. Today I met with Dr. Thomas. I once again feel comfortable in their care. This Doctor gave me considerable information regarding my issue, followed up with new insights and suggestions and a feasible plan going forward. I have been with this group several years and will continue with a group of individuals that I feel also value my health.

This office was one of the worst encounters I have ever had with anyone who practices medicine. I was placed with a nurse practitioner and even after explaining the amount of autoimmune disorders I have and the amount of prolonged and chronic constipation I had experienced for about 5 years. Jennifer Goodin dismissed a good amount of my symptoms and brushed a large amount of my health issues under the rug. I was “prescribed” miralax only, to help “clear” me out for a colonoscopy after telling her how long, prolonged, and chronic my constipation was. She barely listened to me so I wasn’t able to have the colonoscopy that I had to call off of work for because she would only prescribe me an OTC medicine that my insurance wouldn’t even cover. She then put me on a medication to help with the constipation that had so many side effects that it made me so sick to the point I had to leave work. She prescribed me a medication that had a side effect that caused heart palpitations even after I explained to her that I have POTS and that I have a heart murmur because of POTS. My tachycardia and murmur had me to the point I wasn’t sure if it was safe to drive and not pass out while driving. I had asked for a replacement medication because of the horrible side effects from the one she prescribed me and I was dismissed, I had asked for a higher dose of Linzess because the side effects weren’t bad at all, I just needed a little higher of a dose to help move things along better and she completely dismissed me and refused to prescribe it for me. I explained all of this to my PCP and she prescribed me Linzess at a higher dosage than the one Jennifer Goodin gave me and it is working well for me! I wasn’t listened to, I was dismissed, and I wasn’t able to receive the medical help I actually needed. Please choose wisely when thinking about going to this gastroenterologist.

Even though Miami Valley North is one of my favorite medical outlets to visit, I can’t say that I ENJOY visiting all that MUCH! However, once we reached Jennifer Goodin’s office and began discussing procedures, my wife and I both felt satisfied that everything we wanted to discuss, was covered clearly. I need to add that we never once felt, rushed or made uncomfortable in any way. So, if I’ve not typed TOO MUCH, I’d also like to say that I’m actually looking forward to the upcoming procedure, and ENCOURAGING RESULTS!

I don’t appreciate how you’re on display like a zoo animal. The curtain isn’t closed for privacy and you can hear every detail about the outcome of the procedure for the person in the ‘stall’ next to you. The curtain is left open and the nurses all stare and talk about you like you’re unable to hear them. The doctors are fine - truly the ones who seemed to take the time to calm nerves for anyone nervous. Not a great experience in general until it was over; they could work to improve privacy to minimize “gawking” and privacy concerns.

I was very pleased from check in to check out. The receptionist are very polite, friendly ,and patient. I did not wait long at all to be called to go to the exam room. The assistant that took me to the room, to fill in my information was very helpful for me as I was trying to explain what I've been experiencing. She was very knowledgeable about my situation. When my Doctor came in just a few minutes after the assistant left the room. He was very friendly, he listened to me, he ordered more test, and in the mean time he gave me some information to help me cope with my illness till we get the test results back. He helped put me at ease all we get the test results back. I really like my Dr.Ben Thomas. This was my first visit . I'm totally satisfied with this office. If you are looking for a good dependable Dr,'s office this is the oe for you. You can't go wrong putting your health in their hands.
