Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Knee ArthroscopyA camera and small instruments are inserted through incisions the size of a buttonhole to repair cartilage, trim a torn meniscus, or remove loose fragments. Because the joint is not opened fully, recovery is far faster than traditional open knee surgery.Shoulder ArthroscopyUses a small camera and instruments through tiny incisions to repair the shoulder joint β€” commonly for impingement, labral tears, or damaged cartilage. Most patients go home the same day and begin physical therapy within the first week.ACL ReconstructionRebuilds the torn anterior cruciate ligament using a graft, since a fully torn ACL does not heal on its own. The surgery itself is outpatient, but returning to cutting and pivoting sports typically takes nine to twelve months of structured rehabilitation.Rotator Cuff RepairReattaches torn tendons in the shoulder to the bone. Pain relief often comes well before strength does β€” a sling is typical for several weeks and full recovery commonly takes four to six months, with physical therapy doing much of the work.Carpal Tunnel ReleaseCuts the ligament pressing on the median nerve at the wrist to relieve numbness, tingling, and night pain in the hand. The procedure takes about 15 minutes under local anesthesia. Night symptoms often improve immediately; grip strength returns over several weeks.Joint ReplacementDamaged joint surfaces are replaced with implants, most commonly at the knee or hip. Once exclusively a hospital procedure, selected healthy patients now have this done at surgery centers and go home the same day with a structured recovery plan.

Great facility and great people, horrible billing practices. Facility requires up front payment and based on my experience and other reviews, billing practices are predatory. They overcharged me, requiring a refund - which I knew would happen and told them specifically prior to the surgery. They would have canceled the surgery if I didn't pay their full amount. The doctors practicing here (owners, I believe) are excellent, but they have privileges to practice elsewhere - Kettering, Premier, etc. Recommend having your surgeon schedule you for a different location.

Update, I received a call from the billing manager finally who told me that everything was billed correctly. Yet I have anthem on another line saying that I was not. I would never go here for another procedure. Matter of fact if I have to have something done by Dr Kim again, I'll ask for a different surgery place. Lisa being the billing manager, you handled this horribly.... The surgery experience, I should add I had 3 or 4 procedures here and it was great. The billing department is incompetent and if I handled my job this way, I'd be unemployed. I asked to have the billing manager call me. Never once received a call from the billing manager. Very poor customer service

Very professional from beginning to end. The center was very clean and well organized the Nurses and ansthesia staff were kind and answered all my Questions thoroughly. One Nurse in particular took excellent care of me (Nicole). I had Lumber decompression Surgery with rod placement. My Surgeon was Dr. Jeffrey Hoskins and I feel he did an excellent job. I am awaiting my first follow up appointment but would highly recommend him for any spinal surgery. My only complaint is with the cost. My insurance had precertified the surgery weeks earlier and everything was in place. A few days before the surgery i get a call from the financial representatives telling me i need 3k up front or they would cancel the surgery. I didn't have it and for a couple of days I didn't think they would do the surgery. Finally after a couple of days of asking they agreed to take payments. This should have been discussed long before the surgical date. Other that that I would highly recommend this facility.

This was my second procedure at the Greater Dayton Surgery Center and each time I was equally impressed with their professional demeanor, cleanliness of the facility and high quality of care both times. From nursing staff to surgeons and intake personnel and phone support. I understand people are concerned with cost of procedures. Because this facility is run independently by the the doctors themselves there is probably little comparison to what these costs would be in a traditional hospital setting. This fact is also the reason I believe too that the service is so exceptional. Courtney, Leslie, Anita, Tracey and the entire surgical staff were outstanding.
