Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

ColonoscopyA flexible camera examines the full length of the colon to screen for cancer and remove polyps before they become cancerous. Done under sedation, it typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. The bowel prep the day before is the part most patients find hardest.Upper Endoscopy (EGD)A thin camera passed through the mouth examines the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine. Used to investigate persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, unexplained bleeding, or abdominal pain. Usually takes 15 to 30 minutes under sedation.Flexible SigmoidoscopyExamines the lower portion of the colon only, rather than its full length. Preparation is lighter than a full colonoscopy and sedation is sometimes unnecessary, but it cannot detect problems higher in the colon.Capsule EndoscopyYou swallow a vitamin-sized camera that photographs the small intestine as it passes through — a region that standard scopes cannot easily reach. There is no sedation and no recovery. The capsule passes naturally, and images are reviewed after the fact.ERCPCombines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat blockages in the bile and pancreatic ducts, most often gallstones stuck in a duct. Unlike a routine endoscopy, it carries a meaningful risk of pancreatitis afterward, so it is used when treatment is likely rather than for screening alone.Hemorrhoid TreatmentShrinks or removes swollen veins in the rectum and anus using rubber band ligation, injection, or surgical removal depending on severity. Banding is quick and typically requires no anesthesia; surgical removal is more effective for advanced cases but recovery is noticeably more uncomfortable.

Hands down the easiest doctors appointment I’ve been to. Had issue with puking constantly, went in for an appt the same week that I called. The doctor was friendly and understanding. She gave me temporary relief while I waited to get into my procedure appointment. My procedure went really quick and painless with the scope. Highly recommend.

Staff and Dr. Martin were great! Although I am not so positive of the endoscopy center. I got there when I was told and waited in the curtained room for one hour before my procedure. Not one person came to check on me during this time. Then in recovery room I wa rushed out so fast that I don't even remember the doctor talking to me or walking out. There is way too much wait before surgery and wayyyyyyy too fast in recovery room. !!!!!!!

It is ridiculous freezing in the waiting room. They should inform whomever the patient is bringing with them to bring a sweatshirt, coat, or a blanket because they will freeze while they wait for the patient to have their procedure done. It is summer time but it's only 73 degrees outside but probably 60 degrees in the waiting room. I'm not the only one freezing or complaining about it. The staff was nice.

After terrible experiences at a different GI group, I came here very despondent and desperate after a year of unknown chronic issues that were growing increasingly severe. Dr. Kaylor listened to me and not only understood my concerns but also addressed them in a way that showed not only his knowledge but that he really cared. He focused on my specific issues rather than giving me generic "coverall" advice/tests like I was "just another patient". My condition had gotten rather serious at this point and he and the rest of the staff showed me nothing but kindness, empathy, and urgency to make sure I got the help I needed as quickly as possible. They helped me through not only tests and scopes, but also my hospitalization, surgery, and actually got me a diagnosis after all this time. I've already made such a drastic recovery I feel like a new person. I fear to think about where I'd be right now if I hadn't switched to this office. I want to sincerely thank them for everything they've done and would recommend them 1000%.
