Everyone here is nice, but it feels so impersonal. It’s like getting an oil change — quick in and out — and they discuss your business right in front of others. You never actually get to speak with a doctor, and they don’t fully explain your issues or next steps. My advice: go somewhere that truly respects HIPAA laws and where the doctor will actually sit down with you, explain your results, and walk you through your treatment plan. No room to park.
Had a procedure scheduled on 7/14 at 7am, the sign on the door says they open at 7:30. Waited till 8am to call the main office and inquire why no one was there. I was told they didn't have procedures scheduled for that day and they told me someone should've called and rescheduled for 7/28.
I had an appointment at 8:45 checked and and was taken to a room within 5 mins of my arrival. Sat in said room for an hour when the female Nurse practitioner came in there was no apology for being late she acted like my time was not as valuable as hers. I asked if there was an emergency somewhere and she looked at me like I was stupid so again I asked if there was an emergency somewhere or was she just running behind. She stuttered then stated she was just working. I informed her that she was an hour late for my appointment and if we could make this quick as I needed to get to work. She stood up and walked out. I advised to please dismiss me from their office. There blond receptionist is so rude and it seems they are all unprofessional. Had she just apologized for being late but that was to much to ask!
I had my consultation a few weeks ago at the Wheeling facility. Everyone there was exceptional, friendly, and professional. I had my procedure at the St. Clairsville facility. Let's face it, no one really wants to be there; however, my experience was very positive. I was greeted as soon as i got there. Paperwork was very minimal and they were prepping me right on time. I live an hour away and I was home by 11:30 am after getting to the facility around 8:30 am. Not bad. Staff/nurses were very nice and attentive. The doctor was also very professional and took the time to talk about the procedure and the results and answer questions. I have absolutely no complaints at all. In regard to negative reviews, my bet is that most people who leave reviews have an ax to grind and they likely complain about most things in their lives. The ones who have a positive experience usually do not bother. But, who knows? I would definitely go back to this facility.
My experience with Dr. Shatz as well as most his staff could be called "Laughable" at best and downright unorganized ,unprofessional , and greedy at worst. First I was charged $250 just to give my name and address at a location 30 miles from the procedure office. Then on the day of my Endoscopy and Spectroscopy the entire waiting room was filled to patients standing due to over booking. Assistants not knowing who was there for what , patients walking out , one even throwing a fit to where that secretary broke down in tears. After waiting two hrs. past my appointment time I was rushed into a procedure room. As this was the first time actually meeting the Dr. face to face I attempted to ask a few basic Questions where I was told" if you have questions you can reschedule for a later date". when I awoke form the procedure the only person left in the building was a young nurse and the billing lady and neither one could answer any questions on how the procedure went. After approx two months I receive a bill for $10,000 in the mail , (yes, exactly $10k). when I call to explain I was a cash paying customer and had paid $1,800 before service was provided, I was informed that no one had any idea who I was and to dis regard the bill. I was called two hrs. later and informed they found the cash in a safe at the office. Here it is almost a year later and I still have not gotten my results from either procedure. I just got home from an office visit at the Quaker city location where I was told I needed to pay yet again to receive any results. This is just my review of the fiasco that went on , I am hoping others received better and more professional results if they choose to use this "Specialist" for any procedure.
