Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Epidural Steroid InjectionsSteroid medication is injected near irritated spinal nerve roots to calm inflammation causing sciatica or arm pain. Often used to make physical therapy tolerable rather than as a standalone cure. There are limits on how frequently they can be repeated.Nerve Block InjectionsAnesthetic, sometimes with steroid, is injected around a specific nerve to interrupt pain signals. Used both to treat pain and to identify its source, since relief from a precisely placed block points to the nerve responsible.Radiofrequency AblationHeat generated by radio waves disables the small nerves carrying pain signals from an arthritic spinal joint. Relief commonly lasts six months to two years. Because the nerves regenerate over time, the procedure can be repeated.Spinal Cord StimulationA device delivers mild electrical pulses to the spinal cord to interrupt chronic pain signals before they reach the brain. A temporary trial period is done first, so you can judge the benefit before committing to a permanent implant.Joint InjectionsSteroid or lubricating medication is injected directly into an arthritic or inflamed joint. Image guidance is often used to confirm placement. Relief typically lasts weeks to months and can make physical therapy more productive.Trigger Point InjectionsA local anesthetic is injected into a taut, tender knot of muscle to break the spasm-and-pain cycle. The appointment takes minutes and you can usually return to normal activity the same day.

I had a meniscectomy yesterday done by Dr..Tocks. The staff was wonderful from start to finish. Very thorough and kept me informed about everything. Dr. Tocks was superb. Great bedside manner and very thorough. I am having no pain at all. The surgery center just called me to see how I was doing. Would highly recommend Dr. Tocks and North Pointe Surgery Center.

My husband had surgery to repair a broken ankle. The day of surgery was fine but the next day I called in to request additional medication because he was in severe pain . I called three times left two messages and actually talk to the nurse for the Doctor that completed the surgery . Never received a phone call back!

I had a total knee replacement here in December 2023. This place is amazing. Five hours from arrival to leaving - for a TOTAL KNEE. You are well prepared for your surgery - pre-op testing, nurse navigator, appts for surgeon and PA, even "pre-hab" in physical therapy. Sleeping in your own bed is a big help in surgery recovery. The facility was immaculate, nurse was very kind, anesthesiology and PA were terrific. Kudos to Dr. Cooke and his staff for a great joint replacement experience!

We had the opportunity to wait there with a friend whose husband was having total knee surgery. Staff was extremely welcoming and supportive. As you can imagine my friend was extremely nervous and the North Point Surgery Center staff communicated well, with texts and in person. Dr. Cooke was very kind and comforting! Thank you for taking such good care of our friends!

I had surgery on my hand for carpal tunnel release in April 2019. While the nursing staff was very hospitable and kind, I had a problem regarding getting a prescription for pain. The staff at this facility claimed they gave me my prescription when I was leaving, along with other papers. However it was not in the papers given. So I had to keep calling and leaving messages asking for another script. I was refused because they claimed I was given one. Then I was told to get tylenol. The doctors assistant knew I didnt get the medication because she has access to my pharmacy. Do these people think I lied? For the sake of argument what if a person drops the script and needs another? This could happen after surgery as the patient could be a little out of it. Is there a rule....we punish you if you lose the script? I can't believe these people. Also it took me 3 or more days to get a satisfactory answer. I am in pain and they refuse to help.
