Disorganized, Unresponsive, and Unacceptable Patient Care Our experience at Berkeley Endoscopy Center was extremely disappointing. Upon arrival, they did not have my family member listed for their appointment, which immediately caused confusion and delay. We stood at the front desk for nearly 20 minutes without consistent assistance because there was no steady front desk staff present. Multiple patients were left waiting—often three at a time—each standing over 10 minutes without help. To make matters worse, I called the office several times while actively sitting in the lobby, and no one ever answered the phone. Even more frustrating, we received zero updates about my family member’s status. We have been here since 8:00 AM and it is now 10:45 AM, still without clear direction or explanation. For a medical facility, this level of poor communication, lack of organization, and disregard for patients’ time is unacceptable. I would not recommend this location based on our experience.

Horribly late and unprofessional. Trainee had an appointment at 2pm and didn’t get seen until almost 5pm. If you look at the other reviews they are all the same, they are late hours past appointment times. Unacceptable, if you have a choice, DO NOT GO HERE!

My poor review is based on two things. I arrived at 10:30 AM (My original appointment was at 10:15AM, but moved back to 11:30 AM) My procedure did not happen until 3:35 PM So I went all day on Tuesday with no food, then did colonoscopy prep which was of course, awful. Then went the majority of the next day on Wednesday with no food while waiting in the facility lobby. I didn’t get home until about 6:00 PM before I could eat again. When I spoke of the excessive wait time to the prep nurse, she confirmed that Dr. Chockalingham overbooks procedures, and people routinely state they will not return . The other reason I was displeased is the physically broken ladies restroom toilet seat ( a section of the seat was missing with a jagged edge) that was also incredibly loose as well. When I mentioned this to the person who called the next day, she said “we are aware of this and Dr. Chockalingham is supposed to get it fixed” I wonder how long it’s been broken? The staff were fine, and I had no complaints overall with them. But had I not been through the prep and taken off from work, I would’ve asked for my $700.00 back and left. I ended up calling out of work for the next day due to exhaustion and stomach cramping. Had I been able to have the procedure early on Wednesday, this could have been avoided. And no, I will not be having any other procedures at this facility

COMPLETELY DISGUSTED WITH MY SCHEDULED COLONOSCOPY TODAY 3/31/2023! My appointment was at 9:30a and the very rude, obnoxious and dramatic anesthesiologist claimed he could not proceed at 1p when they finally came to get me, because I had been chewing gum since 8:30a this morning! He claimed it was a risk and I needed to wait 4 more hours! A staff member there knew I was chewing gum and she admitted that she did not know I was not supposed to chew gum and even encouraged me to continue to chew it until I go in the room for my procedure after I mentioned I should probably spit it out! It was his delivery and the fact that I had been there all day chewing gum and NO-ONE SAID ANYTHING! The lobby was full of people with one doctor, I felt they needed any excuse not to proceed as they were overbooked and appeared very stressed! I followed the prep instructions to the tee (even meal prep the entire week with food recommended on their list) and no where in there several pages of instructions did it say no gum! A COMPLETE WASTE OF MY TIME TODAY!! NEVER AGAIN!!

Last time I brought my mother here, we arrived :30 minutes early and they took her back 2 hours after her scheduled appointment. At the end of it all she had spent 5 hours here. I told here then I would not bring her back here. But here I am for the last time still waiting on them to call me to get her 3 hours after dropping her off. Absolutely never again here!!!!!!!!!!!!
