Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

ColonoscopyA flexible camera examines the full length of the colon to screen for cancer and remove polyps before they become cancerous. Done under sedation, it typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. The bowel prep the day before is the part most patients find hardest.Upper Endoscopy (EGD)A thin camera passed through the mouth examines the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine. Used to investigate persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, unexplained bleeding, or abdominal pain. Usually takes 15 to 30 minutes under sedation.Flexible SigmoidoscopyExamines the lower portion of the colon only, rather than its full length. Preparation is lighter than a full colonoscopy and sedation is sometimes unnecessary, but it cannot detect problems higher in the colon.Capsule EndoscopyYou swallow a vitamin-sized camera that photographs the small intestine as it passes through — a region that standard scopes cannot easily reach. There is no sedation and no recovery. The capsule passes naturally, and images are reviewed after the fact.ERCPCombines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat blockages in the bile and pancreatic ducts, most often gallstones stuck in a duct. Unlike a routine endoscopy, it carries a meaningful risk of pancreatitis afterward, so it is used when treatment is likely rather than for screening alone.Hemorrhoid TreatmentShrinks or removes swollen veins in the rectum and anus using rubber band ligation, injection, or surgical removal depending on severity. Banding is quick and typically requires no anesthesia; surgical removal is more effective for advanced cases but recovery is noticeably more uncomfortable.

Doctor was very dismissive with no bedside manner. Felt very rushed. He did not seem sure about anything. Very little answers or even a clear strategy for figuring things out. It was a waste of an appointment. The nurses have been really nice which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. There are not many options for gastroenterology in Columbia, but I would not recommend this one. I agree with some of the reviews regarding communication also. Called multiple times over multiple days for test results. And the results were important enough for them to recommend a procedure based on what they found. Some providers don’t understand the angst of looking for medical answers, the anticipation of exploring very personal concerns with a medical professional and with all of that, the impact of being dismissed, ignored, and rushed. Please go elsewhere. No one deserves that.

When I called to schedule my appointment they didn’t answer so I had to leave a voicemail. They called me back the same day. Fast forward, I had my first colonoscopy and it was the perfect experience. The staff was great, the wait period was good and the procedure was fast.

At the moment I don't have a very positive review. Communication is extremely bad. Phone or messengers are not answered in proper time. I had to physically drive to the clinic to get some partial answers. The doctor is fine but office staff is terrible hopefully they will improve in the future. Thank you

I had a colonoscopy here today. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had. The entire team made sure I was comfortable and the whole process was seamless except for the IV (I don't like needles). I just want to thank everyone for how y"all treated me. Thanks For Making Me A Priority!

I want to share my experience that I had here! Everything was perfect for me ! I even got my appointment moved up! So I got to come in a couple hours early! Sorry I don’t remember names of everybody but everyone was so great ! And treated me very well! It seemed like it was a great atmosphere to work! Even great when the song APPLE BOTTOM JEANS came on! Hahahaha I thought that was hilarious but also great why not make it where everyone feels comfortable! I sure was thank you to everyone there ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
