As a recent patient at Coastal surgery center, I was in the building and needed a place to sit down and wait for my ride. When I sat for a few minutes in the lobby of the Coastal surgery center, I was asked to leave because I wasn’t going in for surgery or waiting for someone to come out of surgery. This really exhibits the poor quality patient care after the fact.

Terrible experience I’m told to arrive at a particular time only to wait an hour The front staff was very argumentative I was also told insurance had not approved my surgery 15 minutes before arrival That I could go ahead and come but I would have to sign a paper stating I would be financially responsible if my insurance declined the procedure. Why would surgery be scheduled without approval? This was a network provider I won’t be using again

Terrible experience. Showed up at 6:30 for my 7:30 surgery appointment only to wait 45 minutes and then be told the OR nurse read the appointment sheet wrong and set up for 9:30 and we needed to leave and come back at another time since they did not feel like resetting the OR room. No compensation or extra effort just sorry and see ya. The rest of the day rushed by everyone. The surgeons was in a terrible mood as it delayed him as well. I will redact his name here only because he couldn't control the staff mistakes. However he was gone when my surgery was completed and I was never provided any update of my surgery until 24 hours later which took demanding the staff. Three months out and I have yet to see my surgeon for any kind of follow up just shuffling around to his PA. If you want to go to a place where they care about the patients and want what's best for you then avoid OrthoSC. You are just a number in their machine .

I had a first class experience this morning. I had a lumbar microdiscectmy performed by Dr. Todd Cook. I have had the identical surgery performed elsewhere (out of town) that was successful, but got nowhere the immediate relief i felt with this morning's surgery. Ne need to leave Murrells Inlet for top notch orthopedic surgeons!!
