Please check “National” recommended NPO guidelines, before scheduling an appointment at this facility, in my opinion. Your life “may” depend on your research. Please thank the poorly educated/advised person, who set this facility’s NPO rules, and Dr. Emily Darr, for this review!! My first experience with this Service Provider was amazing. My second was so bad that I’ll never walk into the place. The rudest and laziest nurses imaginable, in my opinion. NPO Guidelines are Not 15 hours before procedure, without fluids!!!! … which would defy common sense.. especially with someone almost 60 years old, with pre-existing conditions. If my favorite Doctor used this surgery center, I would to go elsewhere. I pay a lot for my health care insurance, and I’m particular where I spend my money. Never … ever …again!! My father was a physician!! Be in charge of your health care, and do your research. These are service providers only. Expect and demand proper treatment. Are patients/Insurance Companies being charged here for missed appointments, if a patient may have had hydrated themselves… which is foreseeable for late morning/afternoon appointments? My update is that Iv had a wonderful procedure with Dr. Christopher Merrell at the Low Country Surgery Center. I highly recommend his practice and surgical center.

My child had a dental surgical procedure scheduled today. Of course, he had to fast for it. His appointment was scheduled for 9. They called me a quarter to 8 to tell me his physical we took him to get toward the end of October for the procedure was past the 30 days. They called me on FOUR different occasions last week to give me pre op instructions and etc, and no one caught it to tell me. They informed me my child couldn't be seen today. I took off and kept my child out of school to have this procedure done, and it isn't easy to go back and forth, especially with a child with special needs. I am very upset with how this was handle and the lack of enthusiasm to get my child seen, especially do to the circumstance.

Every single person I encountered at this facility was outstanding from front desk down to discharge. Each person was kind and genuine, made my petrified self feel calm and at ease I would not recommend any other facility for your care. The best team hands down! Thank you for making this a much easier experience than I could ever imagine!

This place is first class! My son had a decompression surgery there yesterday. He was treated above and beyond expectation. The staff is polite and courteous, from the front door to our the door. The surgery lasted until 6:30 that evening, long after they close. Two nurses stayed and were absolutely wonderful, the anesthesiologist, the CRNA and surgeon and his nurse were so caring and compassionate. I would highly recommend this surgical center to everyone. I work for a large hospital in the Columbia area in the OR and this place takes a backseat to no one. Can't thank them enough for all they did!!
