Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Knee ArthroscopyA camera and small instruments are inserted through incisions the size of a buttonhole to repair cartilage, trim a torn meniscus, or remove loose fragments. Because the joint is not opened fully, recovery is far faster than traditional open knee surgery.Shoulder ArthroscopyUses a small camera and instruments through tiny incisions to repair the shoulder joint — commonly for impingement, labral tears, or damaged cartilage. Most patients go home the same day and begin physical therapy within the first week.ACL ReconstructionRebuilds the torn anterior cruciate ligament using a graft, since a fully torn ACL does not heal on its own. The surgery itself is outpatient, but returning to cutting and pivoting sports typically takes nine to twelve months of structured rehabilitation.Rotator Cuff RepairReattaches torn tendons in the shoulder to the bone. Pain relief often comes well before strength does — a sling is typical for several weeks and full recovery commonly takes four to six months, with physical therapy doing much of the work.Carpal Tunnel ReleaseCuts the ligament pressing on the median nerve at the wrist to relieve numbness, tingling, and night pain in the hand. The procedure takes about 15 minutes under local anesthesia. Night symptoms often improve immediately; grip strength returns over several weeks.Joint ReplacementDamaged joint surfaces are replaced with implants, most commonly at the knee or hip. Once exclusively a hospital procedure, selected healthy patients now have this done at surgery centers and go home the same day with a structured recovery plan.

I was there Friday May 16th for surgery, I could not have been treated any better. They're very polite and professional. They were so kind. I highly recommend Spartanburg Surgery Center. So after all of this I was scheduled another surgery there and they want let my Dr. do my surgery because I weigh less than 100 lbs. I think that it shouldn't make any difference what your weight is. Not so happy about this.

Scheduling was fast and courteous. On the day of surgery check in was quick and easy. The pre op nursing staff did a wonderful job getting me prepped and Dr Chittum and the anesthetist checked in promptly. The OR staff was courteous and very professional. Last but not least the post op and recovery staff did an amazing job. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone.

I loved the more intimate facility; the waiting room is very comfortable. As the patient, I thought the staff was very kind, helpful and informative. Especially the Pre-Op nurse Xan. She was amazing! Very friendly and caring, and got my IV in quickly and painlessly. I highly recommend this facility for anyone needing an outpatient surgery.

The carebi received for my knee surgery was outstanding. From check in all the way through a difficult recovery period, which added hrs to my stay, was the best care I have ever received! Susan & Brian were great. Dr. Nelson, Natalie & Sherry were fantastic when I started having complications in recovery. They definitely go above and beyond her & I couldn't thank them enough.
