I was treated like a queen! The whole staff of the surgery center were the absolute best! So caring and down to earth. They have great communication so I knew exactly what was happening. They are all so joyful in their jobs. I just can't seem to find the words. Thank you all for what you do if you see this!
Everyone I encountered was great. Once back in pre-op, I had great care, and Tami was the very best!
I probably encountered 20 different people from check in, to nurses, to techs, to CRNAs, to transporters, and doctors. Every single interaction I had with everyone at the parkwest surgery center was a blessing. I work in the medical field so I know how bad things are getting and how burnt out and flat out rude or mean medical professionals can be these days. I fully believed I’d at least have one or two meanies along the way but that was not the case. The person that stuck out the most was a lady named Sigrid (I believe) not sure what her title is but she was the one verifying hippa forms with me on the iPad. She was so sincere and offered her deepest condolences, explaining she had been through something similar as well. Dr. Myers performed my surgery and he is excellent and compassionate as well. He is also straight to the point in letting me know what is going on which I appreciate that. The amount of smiles and pats on the leg, back, and shoulder I got from Dr. Myers and the surgery staff was unbelievable. Dr. Blaine seemed nice. But I had another Crna actually put me to sleep I believe and she was nice and funny. The only complaint I have is the back of my throat is purple and looks and feels like someone beat my throat during intubation. I was expecting it to be sore but it’s purple lol anyways I’m expecting that to heal quickly! I believe one of my discharge nurses was named pam (I could have just made that up) but she quickly caught a mistake with my care and reported/fixed it quickly. Thankful she was extra assertive! I swear the IV didn’t even hurt and they numbed me for it so that was nice! Lastly there was an older louder man in all gray scrubs (I feel like he was like a transporter but maybe a nurse) I had a few interactions with him and he was so incredibly nice to me and making sure I was comfortable. It felt like I was in a 5 star hotel and if they had a beach I probably would have begged to stay.
I had surgery at Parkwest on May 30, 2025. Everything went smoothly, from the nice lady (Charlene, I think?) at check-in to every staff member I encountered pre-surgery as well as afterwards in the recovery room. They didn't waste time releasing me either, which was appreciated! The parking is plentiful (and they don't charge for it like some places!) and the waiting spaces are pleasant and comfortable. I received wonderful care and I would definitely recommend Parkwest as the hospital of choice if you need to have surgery.
Park west surgery center is amazing. The staff is so kind, professional, friendly, and understanding. The entire experience was lovely. They were all right on time or early and so chipper at 5am. I wondered how they did it. I certainly am not. Once I was on the OR one of the machines weren’t working so they had to get another one. As we waited the staff made sure continued to comfort me and assure me that this is not a problem. They made sure I was not scared. Dr. Dell even held my hand the whole time until I was out. I couldn’t have asked for a better surgeon or group of people. This is one of the only 2 hospitals I will go to in Knoxville.
