Dr. Owings, the nurses, anesthesiologist, and staff were all exceptional! I had an EGD and colonoscopy and I was nervous. They all made me feel very comfortable and kept me aware of everything that they were doing. I highly recommend Dr. Owings!
Our experience was great. My mother has Alzheimer’s and was the patient. At first she told everyone that she hadn’t done the prep work but after they came and spoke with me they understood the situation. They were wonderful with her and had me stay with her as long as possible to help keep her calm. Could not have asked for better support in a very tricky situation.
This was my first time at this St.THomas Endoscopy Center. EVERYONE was very welcomimg, Helpful and Friendly from the Front Desk check-in and each Medical toProfessional il enteracted with! I cannot exptess the wonderful care and professionalism provided to me, and that made me feel relaxed. They called me at home after the proceedure to check on me and they called again to tell me my biopsy was Negative as soon as they got results and followed up by mailing the results as well. A 100% Plus level of care!
Great experience once you can get past the woman at the reception desk. I really put her out by having to do her job. She never looked up, never greeted me, and acted like I was an inconvenience from the moment I walked in. She pushed papers toward me to sign and did not even ask for an ID. Not exactly the kind of first impression a hospital should make. Once I got back, the nurse who prepped me was wonderful. She was kind and professional. The problem came when I was left on a gurney in the prep room for almost an hour with no explanation. Not a good time to arrive when all the Jimmy Johns subs are being delivered, because it sure felt like lunch took priority over patients. The medical staff who handled the procedure were excellent. The doctor, nurses, and the anesthesiologist were all extremely nice, helpful, and informative. They were the saving grace of the visit. If the front desk staff and communication matched the quality of the medical team, this would have been a completely different experience.
I haven't had this procedure done in almost 20 years so when my doctor told me it was time, the dread overwhelmed me. They were kind about the whole thing from making sure I had my appointment to following up about the required paper work, everything was far smoother than expected. The worst thing about the whole experience was the prep but everything else was far better than expected. The staff are kind and patient with a ready smile and warmth you don't normally get in the medical profession anymore and I was grateful for what a great job they did with me. I've got 10 years before I have to go back but I hope I can visit here again when I do. Thank you all so much for taking such good care of me.
