Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

HysteroscopyA slim camera passed through the cervix examines the inside of the uterus, and can remove polyps or fibroids in the same visit. No abdominal incision is involved. Cramping for a day or two afterward is normal.LaparoscopyA camera and instruments are inserted through small abdominal incisions, allowing diagnosis and treatment without a large open incision. Used for endometriosis, ovarian cysts, and pelvic pain, with recovery measured in days rather than weeks.D&C (Dilation and Curettage)The cervix is dilated and the uterine lining removed, for heavy bleeding, after a miscarriage, or to obtain tissue for diagnosis. The procedure takes 10 to 15 minutes and most people return to normal activity within a day or two.Tubal LigationThe fallopian tubes are sealed, cut, or removed to provide permanent contraception. It should be considered irreversible — reversal is not reliably successful, so it is intended for people certain they do not want future pregnancy.Endometrial AblationThe uterine lining is destroyed to reduce or stop heavy menstrual bleeding, offering an alternative to hysterectomy. It is not a contraceptive, and it is only appropriate for those who have completed childbearing.Ovarian Cyst RemovalA persistent, enlarging, or painful ovarian cyst is removed, usually laparoscopically. Surgeons generally aim to remove the cyst while preserving the ovary itself, particularly for patients who may want future pregnancy.

Not sure why the reviews are so low, I had GREAT experience. Prompt, kind and nice. They said I could sleep until I felt okay enough to get up. Obviously my doctor is amazing, but so we're my nurse and anesthesiologist. Great sterilization experience and a doctor who listens!

Excellent care at St. David Surgery Center. I would like to thank all the staff for their professionalism and human quality. Especially nurse Della, who, even though she does not speak Spanish, communicated in English in a clear and easy-to-understand way. Dr. Bucholz, for the anesthesia, which caused no adverse reactions. Maye, the recovery room nurse, for her constant and professional care. And very especially my doctor, Julia Gutiérrez, an extraordinary physician who supported me at all times with faith, dedication, and professionalism. I highly recommend this center for its excellent service.

Maya, Suev, and Sonya were my wonderful nurses while i was here. They were all so friendly and competent! They made surgery go fast and made me feel comfortable enough that it wasn't even a problem! I really felt like each one of them cared about each step of my process and recovery! They really cared for me and made me feel very comfortable during a very uncertain time and I'm very grateful for them! Maya: thank you for keeping me warm before the procedure both with blankets and your compassion. Suev: thank you for being so knowledgeable and competent, I really felt like i was in good hands while i was under. Sonya: thank you for helping me wake up and taking such good care of me while i was at my most vulnerable. Y'all have gone above and beyond in making my experience very comfortable and easy and fast and i hope if i need any other surgery I'll be able to come back here
